I'm currently stationed on board USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, and am looking to start a wargaming club for the ship. I've never created a formal club, and wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions.

I know this is the MINIATURES page, but I know a lot of my friends and I play boardgames as well, which due to space constraints, we will be limited to just board games (although I'd love to bring my modern 1/2400 scale naval miniatures along on deployment!).

We have a place to play on the ship, and I will be contacting my ship's morale, welfare, and recreation (MWR) representative to see about some funding (even a little would help).

I'm also considering seeing if any game publishers would be interested in sponsoring our club to provide a game or two free of charge, since funding would be limited for our group, or even a hefty discount. Anyone ever tried this before? Are there any publishers that have already done this?

Thanks for your help!

Steve,
I have 4 of the old Battletech boardgames (2nd ed). If you're interested in them they're yours for the price of shipping and handling. E-mail me: pavelft AT gmail DOT com.
