I have spoken with Nic Robson and started a 100 club project for French paras for Algeria. My proposal would be for half a dozen or so figures in belt equipment armed with a mix of MAT 49, MAS49/56 and AA52. I would want two head variants, beret and Bigeard cap so the full range of Metropolitan, Colonial and Foreign legion paras could be depicted in their classic dress. I would also propose a suitable rucksack be sold as a separate item for those wanting to add one for battles in the djebel.

The 100 club listing should be going up soon and I will be ordering at least 50, which, for those unfamilar with Eureka's 100 club, means the project needs only 9 more interested parties and 100 more figures ordered to get the green light. Kosta, who sculpted the recent Mujahadeen would appear to be the natural choice for a sculptor but that's up to Eureka.

Anyone wanting to get in on this please register your interst at the Eureka 100 club.

Do you have a link to an photos of the type of uniform you are thinking of please?

I know roughtly what type of thing you are wanting, but some photos would help to confrim what I am imagining.

I was thinking along the lines of the Osprey titles French Foreign Legion Paratroops and their title on the Alegrian War.

A couple of the photos and the cover page sould give you an idea.

Looks the Para in the middle is Bergairde(I know it's spelled incorrectly!)/Bruno … Cool !!

There's already a 100 Club request for French Indochina troops so these could also go alongside. I'll chip in for some once Nic lists them.

Rhino Co05 Sep 2009 7:13 p.m. PST

I started the French Indochin request. I'd be more than happy to fold the two together to get some traction as long as Nic makes some Viet Minh as well as Alegrians…

Hi Nic, So I was wondering, are the 100CLUB20C26 & 27 French Indo China and Viet Minh figs going to be 28mm? Thanks! C'ya, Charles

Hi Nic, Got your email response, for those interested: yes, they are indeed 28mm.
