I am looking for a historical figure that I can buy 2 of so that I can have one on foot and one in a chariot. I know of this one from Warlord but at £15.00 GBP each, it is a bit much. link And this "hollywood version" from WF – which I have 6 of
link There is this one from Gripping Beast but the photo does not look very nice. link Is there a suitable fantasy figure from Reaper or somebody else? Any ideas? Mick |

The Foundry one is very nice; I've personally not been taken with any of the alternatives. Perhaps one of the Shadowforge minis could be converted? They do quasi-norse female and other minis in very short mail shirts, which it is pretty easy to add a greenstuff skirt to. I have a bunch, somewhere

I lke the idea of norse shield-maidens. I could swap the shield for a Battersea Celt shield as I have spares. I have seen the Foundry ones and the Shadowforge ones – are there any others? Mick |

Red Box and Copplestone Castings each have a nice "Chainmail Bikini" type. |

Hinchliffe has a Bodacious Boudicca in chariot. However, there is not a separete "foot" version. |

Newline did (now SHQ does) a bare-torsoed, long-haired version. I prefer Foundry's for history's sake, but the Newline version had the virtue of being able to be purchased individually. There's still a photo available on the archived London War Room site: link Allen |

Asymmetrical boobies alert! Not that it would bother me all that much

Th right arm, being raised higher, causes contraction of the pectoralis, which in turn
I figured it was sculpted from life. That was what my better half always thought about the under-endowment of most nekkid barbarian warrior types, assuming that the sculptors only had themselves as artist's models. She was very sad for them. Allen |

Why not get Dennis Mize's "Chick in Chainmail" figure and use her instead as your Boudica figure? That would be an improvement over the matronly looking Foundry gal. There was an old movie from the 70s called "The Viking Queen" (I think) that was about Boudica and her Roman lover. I know, but it was Hollywood silly. The actress was a babe -- she had one of those one name name (i.e no last name). It's after midnight, I'm getting silly tired and need to go to bed. |

Newline(SHQ)s is nice but I'm not convinced on the " out for the boys
" approach for Boudicca. How about using one of Warlords warrior women? You could always swop a weapon if required. |

Thanks everybody I do not think naked breasts are appropriate in this case. I like the Copplestone Barbarian Queen but she looks too caveman like for a Celtic Queen. I have found this Tom Meier one which I quite like (She is clearly meant as Eowyn)#8300 Human Female Warrior link I am really looking for a long haired beautiful woman in chainmail with a cloak. (perhaps we all are..) Can anybody suggest figures that look like this? picture Or this picture Or this picture I am still open for further ideas. Thanks Mick |

I think the Warlord one is the closest to what you want Mick. You may find one cheaper on e-bay. Their paint job reminds more of Bonnie Langford than what I imagine Boudicca to be like!! |

"That would be an improvement over the matronly looking Foundry gal." Because a Celtic matron shouldn't look matronly? We don't have a complete physical description of her, but Cassius Dio suggests she was something of a termagant. Almost certainly not a babe. And no, she was most unlikely to have had her out except when she was being whipped by the Romans. But then, she wouldn't have worn "chainmail" either, the term not having been invented until many centuries later. She might have worn mail. Definitely wouldn't be carrying a votive shield, either. Doesn't matter how many manufacturers, from Airfix on, have made them. Allen |

I think that Eowyn from the LOTR game might be the best bet. I have one already and it looks like you could easily attach a battersea shield to turn her into Boudicea. Mick |

I just used the WF one. Put her and a driver in the Chariot, then used the same figure on a round base for the dismounted Queen. Yeah, it's rather provincial of me, but I like her. |

Babastus is the Steve Saleh druid that is available from Wargames Factory and Gorgon. Boudica is a slightly converted Eowyn from GW LOTR range. I bought two on Ebay. Both are mounted on Wargames Factory Chariots. More pictures when they are finished. link Mick |

Wow, I didn't know "Boudaceous" three sisters. Cool! Sorta like Bettie, Bella and Bathsheeba Butt
