I'm working on a 10mm civil war project using mainly Old Glory's range of figures. I would also like to mix in some other ranges. So I was wondering what other ranges mix well with old glory?

Here is what I have so far:

GHQ: About the same height but much thinner.
Minifigs: About 2mm taller and very bulky.
Ten High: Viewed these on 10mm world. These may be a good match but not sure.
Langton (starfort): Viewed these on 10mm world. These may be a good match but not sure.

Thanks

The one problem I've run into with other ranges is that they are individual figures, so they look like skirmishers compared to the dense, shoulder to shoulder look of the old glory figures.

I ordered some Magister Militum 10mm ACW recently. If they arrive soon I'll let you know.

I have 10mm Old Glory and the only problem I have with them is that with one pose, advancing I think, the base is about 1 1/4". I'm basing my units on 1" bases so this tends to be a problem. I didn't realize it until after I painted a unit and tried to base them. So I have 2 packs of figures that I can't use.

I'm planning on using Old Glory for all my infantry to avoid this problem.

That's good to know. Up to now I have been working on marching poses only, but I was planning on getting some advancing strips also. Like your self I'm planning on using 1" bases so the advancing strips won't work.
Thanks

Pendraken has a new range. They are comparable in size with OG, but there are more poses and they are all individually based. I'll have them on my web site soon at greathallminis.com.

Have you tried clipping the Old Glory stands apart? I was able to do this with their Romans and it looks like that would work for the ACW guys, too.

GHQ and Pendraken are very good.

As luck would have it I received my order from Magister Militum today.

The MM figures are based individually compared to the OG figures that are based 5 to a stand for most of the range and individually for the troops in "skirmish" mode.

Comparing figures with similar poses, the OG firing skirmisher is approximately 13mm from bottom of the base to the top of the head and 10mm from foot to eye. The MM firing figure is between 13mm and 14mm from the bottom of the base to the top of the head and about 11mm to from the foot to the eye.

The OG figures mounted 5 to a base are between 14mm and 15mm from bottom of the base to the top of the head and 10 mm from foot to eye.

The MM figures are slightly thinner than OG and appear to be a little cleaner.
