Well i am currently now in a Paypal dispute with Acme, ordered and paid for some fences, didnt hear anything for a few weeks, then on contacting was told he had just been on holiday and would cast them straightaway.Fair enough,no problem there.

Again didnt hear anything, even though he had been on here, so after 3 or 4 emails was told he was sorry he hadnt been able to get on computer due to work, that annoyed me as he logged onto here okay, but was posting them straightaway and would give me a tracking number.

Nope nothing happened, no emails, paypal now involved infact the dispute is nearly up, so it looks like they cannot contact him, even my acme vs btc topic hasnt got him involved.

Now heard through someone else, that he also owes them terrain, seeing his website is still live and accepting orders. Id be careful of placing an order.Until at least he surfaces.

I also had Paypal problems with Acme. Luckily, I am not out any funds. He had told me he would cast the fencing two weeks ago and mail out. He even asked me for what I would be using them. I checked with Paypal and the error was on their part, which I passed along to Randy. I had no reply so I waited and e-mailed the same message a week later. Again, no answer. As I have had no reply to any message from Acme since then, I have given up. I will get my fences from BTC. Much safer, more reliable and a known quality.

Unfortunately, I have to report a similar situation. I placed and paid for an order in March, and in May heard that due to a death in the family the order was just being sent out. The situation seemed understandable, and my summer is very busy, so it wasn't until things settled down recently that I realized the order never came. Four emails have gone unanswered.

I also paid through PayPal, so I suppose I will also have to hand over the dispute to them, unless I hear otherwise in short order.

Cheers,

Christopher

Funny,he asked in a second email, what i would be using them for, strange he seems to be quite ready to take the money and not deliver.

Well Paypal have given me my money back, hopefully Ca you will get yours as well.

I'm having the same issues with an order I placed in April to Acme.

PayPal said it's too late for them to do a dispute for me, but they'll try to contact the vendor. My credit card company said it's too late to do a chargeback.

What did you have to do to get your money back through PayPal?

spacehulker05 Sep 2009 2:54 a.m. PST

Cory, i was lucky i was just within the alloted time.Seems that Acme Terrain is taking money without any intention of providing goods.

His website is still live and taking paypal orders.

I think he is a crook, if this is going back at least 5 or 6 months and he is prepared to take the money and do nothing, well i am currently talking to paypal to see if they will shut his paypal off on his site.

Cory Coleman05 Sep 2009 10:28 a.m. PST

It doesn't seem intentional, they just seem unable to deliver for various reasons and i'm ordering what i need from another company.

I just want my money refunded!

On an aside I think it's a bit silly that paypal only allows disputes for a few months instead of a year. Lot's of people are willing to give the benefit of the doubt if someone needs to delay sending something … but then you have no recourse?!

spacehulker05 Sep 2009 10:37 a.m. PST

Sorry, but i do think its intentional,he emails people saying 'out of interest'what are you using them for' then doesnt send them.

I know through here that one guy is well out of pocket, from March this year, march of this year, yet he still takes money and makes excuses, and it isnt intentional????

Cory Coleman11 Sep 2009 5:48 p.m. PST

Paypal should really lock that account.

Getting no email response so I'm conceding that i'm now out $100+. I have no idea what recourse i have at this point.

spacehulker12 Sep 2009 2:24 a.m. PST

Sorry to hear that,im not getting much joy off paypal about getting them to shut his site down,or at least the paypal side.

Maybe you could take a civil action against him?? Not sure how that would work as im UK based.

Will keep putting this near the top on here, until his site shuts.

Cory and others,

I have placed a WARNING on my old blog post advertising Acme, and Debi and I will look at replacing his hard copy ad in back issues of CHARGE! newsletter (we digitally print them, so it's easy to make the change).

The last I heard from him, he was going to send me some stone walls to review, and I never got them. I was holding space in CHARGE! for the review, but he didn't return my e-mails.

The shame of it is the fences really are quite nice…

Money has been refunded from Acme today so all is square.

CATenWolde13 Sep 2009 11:22 p.m. PST

Interesting about the refund. I'm not out as much as you were, but enough to make it annoying. I hope I hear from them too.

CATenWolde16 Sep 2009 10:50 p.m. PST

My money was also refunded – actually they refunded a round number that was more than I spent, without an official request on my part.

So, if they ran into trouble, which can happen to anyone, it seems they are making amends.
