Looks nice--I assume metal for the final product.

Oorah!

Looking very nice

JCFigures30 Aug 2009 7:28 p.m. PST

Yes…metal only. I don't have the means to make plastic figures.

Mlatch22130 Aug 2009 9:23 p.m. PST

Those look great! It seems that you could also probably use them for Army from the same time period if more M4s and the ACH/TC2000 helmets could be found.

(Yes, I know that the Army and Marine body armor is different but with the all the gear and a proper paint job, it would probably look just fine.)

Great to see these JC… really looking forward to adding to my Marines! I assume these will be available through James when the time comes, right?

Cheers,

Burkhard

Once again JC it looks like you have hit another home run, great job! Do you plan on doing any support weapons like the 240G or the SMAW?

recon3531 Aug 2009 7:26 a.m. PST

Man, this is great to see. I have a lot of the DDD stuff you did. Are these going to scale similar to them? (Love those, by the way).

Very nice to see you return to this genre. I second the call for support weapons…

Those are really nice. Very well detailed. I think these may top Black Scorpion and my favorite Modern Marine models.

Thanks guys…Yes the plan is to continue with heavy weapons and support teams, such as the SMAW next. So in short you will have figures firing and moving with the heavy weapon systems. (M2 .50 Cal, M240, MK19 GL, Both the 81 and 60 mortars)

Yes, they could be used as Army but my plan is to just make army torsos and helmet. While I was there they all had these huge shoulder paldrons too that they would flip up. When down thet covered all the way down to the elbow. I imagine they got pretty hot. Our Marines wore these little known kevlar shoulder and arm armor if they were in the turrets of our hummers. We also wore Tanker suits/flight suits for their nomex properties. We eventually got the FROG suit though that was MARPAT (Digi-flage) and flame resistant.

ALRIGHT! JC when can we expect to be able to buy them???

Release date is TBD right now. I apologize for that, but my wife just gave birth to our third child yesterday and I just started my graduate program, so things are a little busy around here. I am trying to schedule roughly 5 to 8 hours a week on sculpting right now. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but it is about all I can squeeze in. With that said, and with what I have left to do on these guys I'd say I have about a month left on finishing up the Marine squad multi pack and then they go off to Jim. Jim is doing much better so hopefully he will have a good turn around time and I'll have sent him good enough sculpts that there will be a minimum on re-tooling. Bottom line the earliest is about two months from now. I had plans to have some "generic" Taliban baddies to go along with these guys, but again time will only tell. They will get done, I just had wanted them released with the Marine set, so we will see how that goes.

Semper,
JC

Congrats on the baby JC my little girl is 3 months now so with work and the baby I know how time just is not there any more.

Congratulations on the new rug rat, if it waited one more day we would share a birthday. Anyways I am really looking forward to these guys. Especially the US army infantry torso and helmets, I have spent the past 5 years in the 82nd so I am kind of partial to my branch.
The Shoulder Daps aren't all that hot really, they just take a little to get used to. They also don't really restrict your movement ether, but they can be a pain if your trying to rech into a tight space.
I wouldnt mind seeing a few generic taliban ether. or even some ANA, ANP also.

CM

Oh an idea, if you toss a few AK, RPKs, RPDs, and RPGs and thouse guys would make good modernized, Chechs, Poles, Rumanians, Ukranians, and Hungareans.
Hell as is, painted up in MRPAT and kited out with M-4s they could reprasnt the 1st and 4th burgade of the Gorgen army dearing the mud stoping they got from russia in 08.

Hi, I noticed you were done with your Samurai figures. Any updates on your USMC guys?
