I was wondering how may of you use Dwarven Forge terrain in your wargaming? I have used it for tunnels in a Great Rail Wars game and for a cool 40k game in McCragge castle. We also used it for Mordheim ALOT.

Lately, I have used it for some cool caverns for my Astounding Tales pulp minis game.

I think is great stuff! Pricey, but you get what you pay for!

No, but if the lottery win comes in, I'm having it….

I have slowly aquired many many boxes of it and it is great stuff. Well worth the price.

Yes. I have boxes and boxes and I love to use them whenever I can. Lots of great stuff there.

No.

Yes, love the stuff. Have used it for fantasy, Confrontation, and the cavern sets for underground bug tunnels in my Starship Trooper games.

If I could afford them, I'd own complete sets and use them all the time.

Maybe someday when I've got a couple of thousand dollars sitting around burning a hole in my pocket! The Dwarven Forge stuff is beautiful, just beautiful.

I have a lot of the SF sets which get used with the 1st edition Spacehulk rules. This is the only genre of gaming where I can put out terrain which looks decent. My other endeavors are primitive.

Yes and no.

It's way too expensive for me, so I'm building my own version:

We tried using it for Warhammer Quest and D+D miniatures; basic sets weren't enough for one dungeon and the cost to have a mediocre one was too high.
25mm square bases were a bit big for some sets.
Transporting all those heavy boxes for just a small dungeon was also an issue.
Impressive though the few pieces we used.

YES, and Geohex CavernScape.

I have 2 Room and Passage sets, each Wicked Editions (2) and the Short Passage set. Also a bunch of Secret Doors and traps

We use it for out D&D games. Nice stuff.

As soon as I win the lottery, I'm game.

Deeman27 Aug 2009 10:30 a.m. PST

Yes, in my roleplaying games. I haven't found a fantasy wargame it works well with though. I'm hoping Warlord if I can ever get a copy of the new rulebook.

I have a huge collection I was planning on using for WarHammer Quest;
never did use it for that, its been in the closet for years

It looks great when set up,
but set-up and take-down are longer than the game!

mweaver27 Aug 2009 12:06 p.m. PST

Mainly just for D&D. Although we did have a Mordheim campaign a few years back that used them for some dungeons.

Darkson Designs27 Aug 2009 10:48 p.m. PST

We used em during testing of AEWWII Occult rules great stuff it photographs well to. ;)

I find that they are too small and a lot of the figures will not fit into the squares because of thier pose. So I sold all of mine.

It's very nice stuff though.

I ended up going with the Ainsty dungeon stuff. The larger 30mm squares allowed for the figures to fit.

Now you have to paint the product, but it looks great.

7 boxes of the stuff and lots of extra bits. They haven't seen the light of day since 2001. I came across them while cleaning the basement last month and got nostalgic. I may have to come up with a reason for using them. Perhaps converting the new Space Hulk game into a fantasy version…

Volstagg Vanir07 Sep 2009 12:16 p.m. PST

I'll second 45th division:
It's really too small for 'modern' 28-35mm stuff,
I think it was designed with true 25 in mind,
but it really comes into its own with 15mm.
