Gents,

Does anyone have a review of the Old Glory 15mm General sets. Specifically, how many generals are in a bag (which are $30 USD and do they mix in with AB/Battle Honors figures?

Any thoughts or pics would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Mine have broken up in various groupings but I recall you get 12 or so named generals, 6 or so unnamed generals and a diorama group. Each bag, (Fed, Con, east & West) has a different little vignette. The two I remember are a signal unit with tower and a photographer with a group of officers and civilians. Sorry but I can't remember the other two w/o grubbing around in my Closet of Lead for an hour. They are very nice figs of sufficient height to go with the AB but not as hefty. Recommended.

Thanks guys,

That's a great help. My last question for those that have them is are they all tagged such that you can see who is whom and are they distinctively like the characters they purport to represent.

Cheers

Yes and yes. There are tags on the feet of the generals. They're all mounted, and you cut the tag off before sticking him on the horse so it won't follow him around. And yes, they are pretty good likenesses of the characters for someone 15mm tall.

Thanks for the info guys.

Larry,

I pretty much do my own paint style and would be interested in the figures unpainted.

Do you sell them that way and at what cost? Please email me offline if you can provide that info.

Regards

I have them all both painted (by pros) and painted by me (not as good). I put the names on the back of the stands and often use them in pick up games of JRIII for each player to have his own commander.

I would also highly recommend Larry's work. I have about 10-15 of his generals and a special ballon he did for me that I have not yet picked up. First rate. he did a conversion figure set for me of Sickles smoking a cigar on a litter being carried off the field. I think it is one of a kind.
