While I don't follow FoW posting here on TMP I would wonder that with the success of FoW it would warrant it's own board?

Or not.

Cpt Arexu21 Aug 2009 7:39 p.m. PST

Oh hell no.

Pictors Studio21 Aug 2009 7:58 p.m. PST

I don't see why. 40K doesn't have it's own board.

corvettek22521 Aug 2009 8:11 p.m. PST

Board proliferation has often been a problem here at TMP. So, I would vote "no". As neither a lover nor hater of the rules (unbiased), I see it only as more boards to unncecessarliy cross posted to.

FOW already has its own board, on the Battle Front website.

nazrat21 Aug 2009 8:11 p.m. PST

BIG no! No other game has it's own board so why should FoW? Plus it would just make it that much easier for The Twins to park there and complain bitterly about the rules they've never played… 8)=

Steve Kachman21 Aug 2009 8:18 p.m. PST

No a hundred times no. I like FOW, but this is not a good idea.

More boards, lovely.

NO game deserves its own board.

Cosmic Reset21 Aug 2009 8:27 p.m. PST

If the Boxer Rebellion and The Great War can't have their own boards, I don't think any single set of rules should have its own board.

BW195921 Aug 2009 9:02 p.m. PST

Please, NO new boards!!

Martian Root Canal21 Aug 2009 9:16 p.m. PST

No.

15mm and 28mm Fanatik21 Aug 2009 9:20 p.m. PST

Yes, I vote YES!

If FOW and 40K have their own boards it's all the easier to avoid them.

Etranger21 Aug 2009 9:49 p.m. PST

That would be the FOW Hobby Board then? No!

sneakgun21 Aug 2009 10:10 p.m. PST

No, they have their own forum and I do play the game. I do think Goth Girls, Zardoz and breacle…however you spell it, should have their own boards.

Ironsides21 Aug 2009 10:46 p.m. PST

I vote no but if we get one I would like to see an Age of Eagle board too.

rct7500121 Aug 2009 10:52 p.m. PST

Shouldn't have a board at all :)

Kampfgruppe Cottrell21 Aug 2009 11:40 p.m. PST

The FOW fans can post with the rest of us uncivilized WWII gamers.

Tango India Mike22 Aug 2009 1:48 a.m. PST

Initially I thought yes, but having read other's comments. I have changed to a firm NO. I think irishserb puts it best. If the Great War is lumped in with generic early 20th century then FoW certainly doesn't justify it's own board. No single ruleset does

Connard Sage22 Aug 2009 1:57 a.m. PST

More boards, lovely.

NO game deserves its own board.

I wish that if people were going to plagiarise me, they'd do it properly.

It's

More boards. Lovely.

bruntonboy22 Aug 2009 2:10 a.m. PST

Nah, FOW is as far as I am concerned simply another set of WW2 rules and nothing more.

Graham

helmet10122 Aug 2009 2:26 a.m. PST

Yes, FOW and WH40K should have their own boards, IMHO

I think whats whats known as a target rich enviroment! or a nonsense filter…. (kid A)

christot22 Aug 2009 2:54 a.m. PST

Perhaps…but only if the FoW players want it, and I don't see them clamouring for it, only a lot of non-believers who would like to get rid of them.

EagleSixFive22 Aug 2009 4:57 a.m. PST

No

No. Definitely no.

No and further, I thought you had to propose one to be removed for every new suggestion.

Personal logo JammerMan Supporting Member of TMP22 Aug 2009 8:20 a.m. PST

Add another no. And I also do some FOW.

No

Mainly28s22 Aug 2009 8:52 a.m. PST

Absolutely not. It's a set of WW2 rules, no more, no less. Why should any set get its own board?

BrianW22 Aug 2009 9:14 a.m. PST

No, no and no.
BWW

jeffrsonk22 Aug 2009 9:25 a.m. PST

No to the proposed FOW ghetto.

Wg Cdr Luddite22 Aug 2009 10:00 a.m. PST

Absolutely FOW should have it's own board.

Then they don't have to post their rubbish on the WW2 boards.

christot22 Aug 2009 10:19 a.m. PST

Plenty of non-FoW stuff gets posted thats also rubbish….they ain't that special

Dragon Master22 Aug 2009 10:41 a.m. PST

What's "FOW"? That about sums it up for me.

kevanG22 Aug 2009 10:52 a.m. PST

All the www2 review boards should be merged, All the ww2 sea boards should be amalgamated, all the ww2 air boards, all the gallerys

none have the traffic in posts to warrant individual boards

myrm1122 Aug 2009 12:05 p.m. PST

DOn't see why, I mean I play the game a lot and all, but it is just one ruleset in many. So I vote no.

zoneofcontrol22 Aug 2009 12:33 p.m. PST

Well, looks like most of the members do not want a new board. So I guess that settles it…a new board it is and move it to Baltimore, NOW!

Martin Rapier22 Aug 2009 12:39 p.m. PST

What KevanG said, get rid of all the separate WW2 boards and just have one. NO to separate boards for any specific sets of rules. In fact get ride of all the damn boards and just have two, 'wargaming' and 'other stuff', just like the front page is organised.

I see the moratorium on new boards polls has ended, perhaps I shall propose another one soon.

Ditto Tango 2 122 Aug 2009 1:00 p.m. PST

What KevanG said, get rid of all the separate WW2 boards

Hmmm, given his past objection to just such suggestions, I believe this one is simply sarcasm. I thought KevanG was one of these super organized types that wanrs us all to post on separate boards for each finger one types with… grin

kevanG22 Aug 2009 3:28 p.m. PST

Tim, not now….I can see a reason for the specific scale boards, but the entire naval board and the air board have about 2 or thrree threads a month. There is certainly no need for a micro scale ww2 reveiw board for air, sea and land.

Fow is a set of rules and we have a ww2 rules board or had no one noticed?…8-) Obviously thats another board that could go!

BTW Tim, didnt realise you were a civil engineer..

Ditto Tango 2 122 Aug 2009 3:38 p.m. PST

How'd you know that – where did I reveal that I spent many of my undergrad labs burning raw sewage, scarring me for life?

Actually, thinking about it, maye we sould have a FOW board along the lines of the Blue Fez – that way, by invitation/approval only one doesn't have to put up with some of the very nasty posts that sometimes seem to occur in concert with the FOW posts.

Now, another thing to consider (read on)

I beleive Martin was joking as well…

Actually, I was being honest with the other boards, I reserve the right to change my opinion!

…but i was joking about the rules board, although I cannot understand why nobody else mentioned it

I did civil engineering too, but I never got to burn raw sewage..Sometimes suspected I was drinking it at the university bar, but never got to torch any crap!

…you Canadians have all the fun with engineering!

Kaoschallenged22 Aug 2009 5:02 p.m. PST

"I can see a reason for the specific scale boards, but the entire naval board and the air board have about 2 or thrree threads a month"

I would like to point out that the WWII Aviation Discussion Message Board alone has had 19 new threads this month so far and the World War Two – Sea Message Board Board 14 including a couple of cross-postings thread :).I do agree though that FoW surely doesn't need it's own Board. And certainly "Fow is a set of rules and we have a ww2 rules board" where questions about it could go :) . I have always wondered why rules, like FoW, specific questions are not being posted there. Robert

Stefanpanzer22 Aug 2009 5:06 p.m. PST

No to any FoW fauning. They already believe they 'invented the hobby'. Good grief! I understand they intend to trade mark 'World War Two' for good measure…..umm.

Palafox22 Aug 2009 7:41 p.m. PST

As for the original question from the OP:

No.

"I beleive Martin was joking as well…"

I never joke when it comes to the subject of boards on TMP. It was me who proposed the initial moratorium on new board polls.

I'll say it again. Get rid of all the boards and split posts into 'wargaming' and 'other stuff'.

kevanG23 Aug 2009 11:03 a.m. PST

Oh you are a josher….we would have half a days new threads on the first page….Remember he autocue days for this board

"I can see a reason for the specific scale boards, but the entire naval board and the air board have about 2 or thrree threads a month"

Perhaps I chould have been more specific and added "that arent cross posted to another board or 2 or 4, mostly the other boards under that title"

It gets a bit wonderous when threads have more cross board posts than they have actual posts.
