Has anyone purchased and painted Bear's Den Turks and/or Late Polish? Any comparison to Old Glory, Foundry or TAG would be appreciated. Thanks! Steve Miller DFW Irregulars |

I painted their Turks. Style of sculpting is a bit chunky. Very round and smooth, I couldn't stop thinking of chocolate when I was painting them, no sharp points like in Old Glory. I painted them at the same time I painted TAG Turks. Style of sculpting is definitely different, but about the same size. I wouldn't put them in the same unit, but in the same army, at least cavalry. Infantry would mix better. I also painted some Essex and may be Redoubt Turks at about the same time. They would all mix, but style of sculpting is somewhat different for each of the company. |

So which did you like to paint? Which figs looked better post painting? If you had it to do over again, which manufacturer would you use please? |

If it helps. I have a number of Bears den figures painted up and I am very happy with the results. I am not sure of the ranges as they were all bought at shows for use as fantasy figures (Impulse they would do for X). I do not enjoy painting but as they were painted up swiftly I would say they are on the better side for painting. x42 |

I liked BD figures a lot. If I had a choice I would choose BD figure over other manufacturers. Not that others were bad, just BD figures were more enjoyable to paint. |

Thanks IG and all that responded! I'll order some Dellis, Spahis and a couple of infantry units and see how they paint up. Will also order a couple of Winged Hussar units to see how the Poles stack up too. |
