Pleased to be able to provide these. Posted a news item to TMP but it may be a few days before it hits the front page -- thought I'd give a heads-up here. link |

Always wondered why people bother posting comments like this. "Nice models, but I don't play World War II." And

Spearmen and archers look great! Cant wait to see the Cavalry and "Be"! |

So, Khurasan, when are you going to do Heian- or Kamakura-period protoSamurai? I've got a couple battles I want to abuse an overly-serious gamer friend with, but I need 10th/11th century horse-archers and foot retainers to do it with! I'll guarantee at least 50 horse-archers and about 200 footmen, personally. |

Wait! We need 3 Kingdom Period Koreans before we get another Japanese set! |

The Three Kingdoms period ran from 57 BC until Silla's triumph over Goguryeo in 668. Wow, planning some seriously early Korean Wars, Uesugi-san? |
Uesugi Kenshin | 10 Sep 2009 3:39 a.m. PST |
Exactly! The Japanese played both ally and enemy in these wars. And the Tang (another army I'm waiting for Khurasan to release!) got bested repeatedly by the Koreans! A great time and place for some good miniature campaigns! |

So, Khurasan, when are you going to do Heian- or Kamakura-period protoSamurai? No plans at present. You might want to look at the Eureka line, they trend toward early-ish. Wait! We need 3 Kingdom Period Koreans Now that is planned! At least, Baekje to serve as allies for my Kofun Japanese. I imagine that there is a large degree of interchangability in the three kingdoms, however. As an update, I got an image of the shields and standing pavises for the Kofun today from the sculptor so it's just a matter of time before those, and the foot command, are available too. He's also doing the horses, so the mounted are in the works as well. |

Well, it's not right on the horizon, got to get the Kofun finished first! And that includes their Emishi auxiliaries. But yes, after the Kofun, their allies. |

Yep, I will be making Three Kingdoms Koreans as soon as the Kofun are done. I need to as they were important allies of the Kofun (the Baekje kingdom). It will be spearmen, archers, and the light, medium, heavy and very heavy cavalry. Not on the front burner, but in the queue right behind the Kofun, and the Kofun are 2/3rds done! |

Interesting links; I lived in Kitakami and the Tohoku region for years before moving to Tokyo, so those place names resonated with me. My wife and in-laws are from the area and know a lot of interesting (and obscure!) places associated with the Emishi, including old shrines on or near areas purported to be old battle sites. There are a number of local museums with exhibits and artifacts relating to Emishi culture. Like Leland I'm pretty much a 28mm guy, but I'd definitely go for any good range of 15mm Emishi. |
