Does anyone play in other figure sizes other than the prescribed 15mm?, do the rules suggest alternative base sizes etc for 20mm for example?. Just curious. |

i doubt the rules suggest alternative scales (i don't remember), but plenty of people play the game at 20mm for fun. |

20mm FoW is popular in some regions. You might check with FAA/ Wargames out of Nashville and see what they recommend in regards to base sizes. |

I would think that FoW with microarmor, AND wilth all the ranges as per the book, would cut down a bit on the whining about the "logarithmic" scale. Some, but not much. Then the range of a Sherman's main gun would be 54 times the hull length, instead of 18. Knowing gamers, though, they would reduce the measurements to go along with the reduced scale. |

I've played several games using 6mm microarmor and it works great with all rules and ranges as written. I've also used centimeters in place of inches and played on a small space that easily fits on a kitchen table. This particularly works well for testing out ideas and lists if you want to just do quick solo games. Or if you simply don't have a big enough table to play on. |

6mm FoW is definitely workable. I'm painting up my 3mm Russian and German stuff for travel practice, and just to give it a spin. As long as both sides are the same size, and (ideally) your scenery doesn't look too odd, it should work just fine. And of course, other rules will work too. That's the beauty of historical games -- you're not tied to any one system with your miniatures. - Bob |

We play FOW straight from the book using 6mm. We dont change anything. Its a much better game IMHO. |

I've seen FoW played with 20mm – and the infantry is based on what looks to be standard Battlefront bases. I believe that they may just drop a figure from each of the stands to pull this off. Wyatt (playing FoW with 1/87 (18mm)) |

Friends of mine have tried it at 20mm – no rules related problems. Lots of folks use 10mm |

Does anyone play in other figure sizes other than the prescribed 15mm? How could such a thing be possible? I've heard that the bases decompose under the weight of figures other than 15mm. And the words in the rulebooks begin to fade if there are other scales anywhere near the table! BTW, 15mm is about the only scale I don't play -- the mechanics work, with a better visual representation, at 10mm, even moreso at 6mm. |

We only play in 6mm using ranges straight from the book. |

I wanted to play 20mm but when i suggested it at the club i was excommunicated as a heretic, only narrowly avoided being burned at the stake :( I confined my 20mm to the attic and bought new armies in 15mm. The reality is 20mm is better detailed and CHEAPER than 15mm but close enough it can fit on the same bases. Problem is clearly battlefront were not going to be able to break into the 20mm market so they have brainwashed the players into believing that 15mm is the ONLY scale allowed officially. Andy |
