link Mainly Outpost Miniatures Infantry. I must point out that these sculpts from Martin Baker are some of the most detailed i've painted, his style and expertise has certainly improved over the years, these really are lovely figures. These are some of the best painted figures I have seen in a long while and long may they grace my table! Cheers, Geoff |

Really nice. I can see you haven't taken any short cuts at all; you used non metal metal for the bayonets, you put grain into the wood. Great stuff. Can you tell me what you used for the basing (colours etc) and also about the flags which look excellent. Cheers Neil |

Thanks all. No shortcuts, although they do take longer because of it. I use a wet pallette so tones are mixed as i go rather than paint a, b, c. The Flags are airbrushed and then shaded to get a greater definition, worked up from a hull red base colour. For basing i had a mixture of colour swatches mixed up in emulsion at B&Q/Hardware stores, again from a dark brown base highlighted successively through red brown, to yellow/khaki and final light stone. For basing although initial outlay is quiet a bit, it saves in the long run and gives consistancy. Its also the same colours i use on my terrain. |
