I have CD3 back in the UK. I also have the ooooold army list book which I picked up at a bring & buy. Soon I'll start basing some WW2 minis again. Does the new Command Decision use the same basing convention? Has it got new army lists? I'm a bit stuck for basing now as I don't even have my old army lists. |

Hello, Chris is correct – basing is the same – in fact, although the "standard" is 20mmx20mm, it really doesn't matter how you base the figures, as long as you are consistent – I know several people who use Flames of War bases, having converted from Flames of War to CD and there isn't a problem at all. As for Army Lists, the old Armies of WWII is pretty close to current lists – there are some differences, but for the most part they are, as Chris said, fine, although there are new books out if you would like to purchase the new ones. The people on the forum are quite friendly, so if there is any OB that you have a question on, just post and I'm sure you can get an answer. |

The biggest change is that due to arguments about how defensible artillery batteries are when attacked, and the exact role of battery commanders in different armies (i.e. whether they're up front directing fire or leading the battery), most batteries have a stand of command infantry as part of the battery. I don't really like this change myself, so if you don't like it either, you don't have to play with it or include it in your armies. i.e., it's your game to tinker with as you like, so long as your opponents know where you're coming from. Also, the Russians tend to have OB's based on real life (i.e., weak on infantry) whereas OB's for other nations reflect more full strength units. |

Note there is a new system centred around "battlegroups" for pickup games. There is some explanation on the website. |
