I noticed that All Fronts Armor Depot is now doing business as Hobby Armor Depot. Has anyone dealt with Hobby Armor Depot since the change in name? What are your impressions? Trustworthy? etc
. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my son is getting into Modern gaming and came upon their website. He would like to get an order in, but I would like to get your opinions, and impressions before laying out any money. I know of the previous posts and background for All Fronts Armor Depot, but I know nothing about Hobby Armor Depot. Thank you to everyone in advance who can help with this decision. |

AFAD and HAD are the same guy. AFAD was when he was in Florida ( I think
) and HAD when he moved to Texas. I think his name was Joe
I lost several hundred dollars (about $300) to them
Nice guy on the phone, then all of a sudden, he stopped taking my calls, never responded to e-mails, etc. Took my money and ran
I finally saw some though from a pal who got his order
poor castings, and there are dark hints of illegal re-casts
and that was MY BUDDY WHO BOUGHT THEM'S opinion
STAY AWAY!!!

I've bought from them and although it took a while to get them they were nice for the price. They make vehicles not available from anywhere else in 25/28mm. They do need some work in filling in some of the minor pitting in the castings but at the price they are sold at, it's still a great deal. I have read where a number of people have had problems with their service but all I can say is that my experience with them was good and I would buy from them again. |

Basically they stole my money and then lied constantly about providing the items I had paid for, for the next 18 months.I had his wife on the phone crying over the fact that she kept getting calls about her husband cheating people, and she kept begging him to stop but he wouldn't. It was very sad and I felt very sorry for her, but he's still a thief. |

WOW!! So price point and availability of items not made anywhere else is great; casting is mediocre; and professionalism is out the window
thanks a lot guys. This is very disappointing as I would love to get some of the items, but can't afford to just throw my money away to someone who does not hold up his end of a transaction. |

If you do enough business with this company, you will eventually get burned. I like many others thought it would not happen, but buyer be warned. I had Been buying from them for the past 2 years without a problem then the law of averages finally found me. Still trying to get my money back, same MO as what is described by others on TMP (nice on phone, promises to get the models to you, then nothing). Thankfully was just over $100 USD for me, have read about others that have lost much more. Each time you do business with this company you take a chance. I'm not sure on the criteria he uses to make his selection on whom gets ripped off, but rest assured it will happen to you eventually. |

I'm still chasing a order placed early this year. Funny enough comms broke down just after money was transferred. I would advise staying clear or doing what i used to do when dealing with Stronghold Minatures in UK. If it was in stock and on his trade stand i would buy it there and then and would politly refuse to have out of stock stuff sent on later. |
