The Trojan shipping container!

You fool! You've brought it inside the walls and you've doomed us all!

(ahem)

Seriously, congrats on the lucky find!

Wow! Those AT-43 "mechs" looking really cool with the 15mm WWII stuff.

Captain Apathy13 Aug 2009 10:47 a.m. PST

Did it come that way or are those your mods? Either way very cool.

Also, who did you buy the container from?

Brutorz Bill13 Aug 2009 10:57 a.m. PST

That's cool. I like the assortment of lines you've got in there. Nice!

Captain Apathy

I bought it from warstore and find that the container can be a nice place for 15mm, so I convert it to a secret hq.

That is really cool. It reminds me of one of the Gundam straight to videos where they smuggle a whole mecha in in parts in containers, build it in a warehouse and attack the city.

I'm with you Eli, most excellent and inspiring. I can see some really cool scenarios from this.

The Trojan shipping container!

So they're sending birth control to the planet?

So they're sending birth control to the planet?

No. They're for protection.

@emu2020

That would be Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket. And the big blue mech they built was the Kaemfer. One of the best looking badguy mechs from the Gundam series. A shame it didn't last long in combat though. But you gotta love the mech sized pump shotguns!

I am so stealing this idea…..

Wolvermonkey,

Thanks, though I was aware, just opted for general terms for the non-Gundam public.

I was lucky enough to be in Japan in 1989 when that series was still coming out. I lucked out and the final tape was released the day I had to leave and it was a mad scramble to find a copy so I could have a complete set of the hard box VHS with all the cool insert stuff.

I agree that the Kampfer is one of the best looking "bad guy" mecha. Shotguns, panzerfausts, mine whip. What was cool is that the mecha sized shotgun fired shot not slugs. While I was there, I picked up a couple of model magazines and one of them had a cool version for use as a battlefield unit instead of a terror weapon link

There have been some cool variations since such as -

I always wished I could have got a hold of some of the mini mecha shown when the colony defenses are trying to fight off the Kampfer. Those little armed power loaders (mini mobile suits) look sweet.

The "War in the Pocket" OVA is IMHO one of the nicest Gundam projects done. It is a very human story with the mecha in the background.

Hey….I was there in 89 too! 88 to 90 actually. I agree about the story. It's really not about the mechs at all. And if I hit the lotto tonight I'll send ya a postcard.

Eli Arndt14 Aug 2009 4:34 p.m. PST

@Wolvermonkey

Not sure I understand the last bit there.
