Would anyone have any suggestions for figures that can be "fudged" for a 'Star Wars' scenario in 15mm? I already know about the old Galoob/Hasbro Micro Machines, but their size tended more toward 1/76 scale, about 20mm. If there are some "not-'Star Wars'" figures that are available in 15mm that I'm not aware of, all the better.

Thank you.

I checked for previous threads about this. Seems like pretty slim pickings. I would suggest that Micro Machines is really the best option.

Thanks,

John

I would seriously look at Ground Zero's 15mm Neu Swabian League heavy infantry for stormtrooper proxies.
New Israelis or Rebel Minis Earth Force troops could possibly serve as clone troopers.
I would think think that proxying rebel forces would be simpler.
I could see Hoth heavy rebel infantry as FSE troops
and lighter troops could be replaced with colonial troops.

The real problem would be character figures.

For stormtrooper proxies you could even consider these guys from Eureka: link

Liberation imperial troopers , but htey are 20mm

Either use the Micromachines troops, or switch to the 25mm WEG minis.

I've done the whole spectrum of Star Wars proxies with GZG troops. There's a photo folder in the 15mm sci-fi yahoo group if you belong to that.

Rebel Naval Infantry ("white helmets"): FSE
Rebel Commandos: err … were they OUDF?

Imperial Stormtroopers: "United Nations" hardsuits
Scout Troopers: New Israelis
"Space Troopers" (from the books): NSL power armor
Imperial regular army ("black helmets"): err … the Arab guys
Imperial Officers: NSL Jagers

I think that covers it. I also used regular NSL troops as mercenaries, and militia as, well, rebel militia.

You can also make a pretty good "Super" Battle Droid from FSE power armor (just cut off the shoulder mounts and heavy weapons). GZG has 15mm tall "mechs" in their 6mm rage that make pretty good regular battle droids.

PS – if you would like a batch of photos of the above (5MB) just drop me a line.

Cheers,

Christopher

Green eyed minis has ewoks and wookies.

Brutorz Bill13 Aug 2009 11:48 a.m. PST

I'll second that Green Eyed minis has some cool "Yetis" and "Toleros".

Characters?
Take a look at GZG's Free Trader and Ravager crews. There are some possibilities there.

Laser Burn might have some useful miniatures.

Why 15mm when the Star Wars miniatures are so cheap on Ebay. Just do not bid against me!

It has been said that our 20mm Chumbonda figures could be used as Wookies in 15mm as they are 20mm to top of head.

Check them out here….

Saginaw,

If you go with the "slighter-built" 15mm SF figures from Khurasan . . .

. . . have you considered these Old Crow guys as opponents?

There are some very interesting choices out there. If anything, most of the figures come close enough to warrant just a simple head switch. Very nice!

Thanks, everyone, and thank you Christopher for the file you sent me! thumbs up

I would also add the micro machine wookies look good for 15mm too small for 20mm if that helps

Brutorz Bill15 Aug 2009 6:32 p.m. PST

Hey Roger,
Those Chumbonda look pretty cool! Anyone have a scale comparison photo of them with some GZG 15's or Rebel Mini 15's? I'm cool with them being bigger than humans, I just don't want Giant size. : ) Looks like your wardroids could work also, might work as proxies for Super Battle Droids!

dick garrison16 Aug 2009 8:40 a.m. PST

Hi Righteous Rude,

I don't have any GZG figs to hand but if you E-mail me off list through the web-site I can send you (or anyone else who's intereseted) a pic I've just taken of a wardroid and a Chumbonda next to a "Kremlim Miniatures" 15mm fig, that I think is pretty much a dead on match for the GZG New Anglian troops I sold on last year (I've gone over to 20mm almost exclusively now you see).

Hope to hear from you soon and hope it helps.

Cheers Roger.

The NSL guys from GZG wouldnt be terrible for storm troopers

Eogwan24 Aug 2010 7:09 a.m. PST

I used starwars risk figures, for the CIS and Clone Troopers.

John Leahy Sponsoring Member of TMP26 Aug 2010 4:36 a.m. PST

I'm using Risk too. Luckily, I picked up 60+ Micro Machine Battledroids when the Phantom Menace came out. I'm also using Gzg's crusties for my CIS.

Thanks,

John

I'm seriously thinking about doing a 'not Clone/Stormtrooper' force, using GZG UN Hardsuits for the troopers, and a combination of the GZG walkers and Grav high-tech vehicles for armored support.

I'm thinking about Khurasan's mechanoids as Droid opposition, though some of the suggestions for Rebel Alliance troopers sound good!
