After hearing a lot of nightmare stories about AFAD/HAD, I was wary of ordering from them. However, they're the only ones that make the AAV7a in the size I want (note: the S&S one is not the later model…and a little too small for my tastes and figures).

Anyway, HAD was having a '15% off sale', so I took advantage of it and contacted them a platoon of 5 of the AAV7a models. As the website says, you should check on availability to make sure that they have what you want on hand in order for prompt service. I was in luck as they had 5 on hand. Joe even tossed in assembly and priming for no additional charge!. The shipping and handling for the 5 models was $16 USD which is very reasonable!

I ordered them on a Friday (my B-Day!). I got an email on the following Monday that they shipped (with the USPS tracking number). The package arrived safe and sound on that Thursday! Less than a week from order to delivery…and 3 days of that was waiting for the primer to dry!

The models themselves are fine for wargaming. As has been mentioned my others, they are NOT museum-quality. There are quite a few "air bubbles"…but 99% of these are out of sight (like the bottom side of the turret). In fact the only complaint that I'd have about the quality is that the gaps between the bogey wheels are filled with extra resin. However, this is clearly visible from the pix on the website…so I wasn't surprised. I think that if the tracks were cleaned up on their molds, then no one would be complaining about the quality!

Overall, I'm very satisfied with my new toys and the service from HAD. I will definitely order from them again.
