If you went to H-Con this year will you be going to Baltimore?

As a vendor I'm interested in knowing. If possible, please limit your answers to a yes or no.
Thanks!

Condottiere07 Aug 2009 8:53 a.m. PST

Yes.

(But still not "scientific" and probably will not give you an accurate assessment of the numbers that will attend).

Waco Joe07 Aug 2009 8:57 a.m. PST

I hate rules:

I do not go to Historicon anymore. I may go to it in Baltimore however, depending on the the state of my job.

sma194107 Aug 2009 8:58 a.m. PST

yes

Don Perrin07 Aug 2009 9:06 a.m. PST

You bet (yes).

Kurt Kramer07 Aug 2009 9:14 a.m. PST

No. However, reason is not the change of location (which I was against but would have not stopped me from going) but the change of date.

Goldwyrm07 Aug 2009 9:25 a.m. PST

No.

Rob Richardson07 Aug 2009 9:36 a.m. PST

No

altfritz07 Aug 2009 9:37 a.m. PST

No – and neither is my gaming buddy.

nycjadie07 Aug 2009 9:44 a.m. PST

Yes, but I agree about the date change as being problematic. It's hard to take 4 to 5 days off, right after a three-day weekend.

avidgamer07 Aug 2009 9:47 a.m. PST

No. I haven't missed one in 10 years but I'll skip the Baltimore ones.

mweaver07 Aug 2009 10:02 a.m. PST

We're planning to go.

Nick The Lemming07 Aug 2009 10:04 a.m. PST

Wouldn't it be worth also asking if people didn't go to HCon this year, whether they'll be going? That way you might find a few people who will be going because it's moving, as well as those who have decided not to go. But then you're probably not looking for an actual picture, just yet another whinefest.

Gallowglass07 Aug 2009 10:06 a.m. PST

Don't know yet.

TodCreasey07 Aug 2009 10:09 a.m. PST

No but I don't go very often anyways.

GoodBye07 Aug 2009 10:12 a.m. PST

yes, I said I would give it a try.

Ed the Two Hour Wargames guy07 Aug 2009 10:13 a.m. PST

No sorry, I'm past all that crap "The pro and con Historicon is going to Baltimore". I'm making decisions on which conventions to vend at next year.

BTW – You didn't even vote.

I only missed this year's Historicon due to financial reasons. I have made every other one since 1997.

I will not be going to Baltimore.

Gil Bates07 Aug 2009 10:20 a.m. PST

Neither myself nor my daughter will be going.

timtke777107 Aug 2009 10:26 a.m. PST

No.

Personal logo McKinstry Supporting Member of TMP Fezian07 Aug 2009 11:02 a.m. PST

Yes I plan to go and I did not go for the last three. The date is a real pain (too close to July 4)however.

FWIW – I go to both Cold Wars (my favorite) and Fall In regularly and will continue regardless of Hcon effects.

redbanner414507 Aug 2009 11:04 a.m. PST

Yes. (family of 4)

Blue Devil 8807 Aug 2009 11:28 a.m. PST

No! and why doesn't someone create a poll on the poll page for this topic with only yes, no, or don't know yet? This way we don't have to listen to opinions and no more 400 message topics.

Ed the Two Hour Wargames guy07 Aug 2009 11:35 a.m. PST

Blue Devil 88 – Good idea.
Will ask Bill.

Sundance07 Aug 2009 11:38 a.m. PST

No.

The Tin Dictator07 Aug 2009 11:48 a.m. PST

yes

Regrebnelle07 Aug 2009 11:54 a.m. PST

All 3 East Cons are variable for me due to work considerations. I usually don't know for sure until a month or so out. My decision is 1) time off 2) any family commitments and 3) how's the pocket book look. If all 3 are good then I'm there, if not there's always next year.
I guess that makes me a definite maybe.

Doc Ord07 Aug 2009 11:55 a.m. PST

I have missed one Historicon since '88 and enjoy going, seeing friends from all over & putting on games but I don't know. I hate driving in big , unknown cities. I may wait this one out.

Charles BTB07 Aug 2009 12:53 p.m. PST

Then as I said, you'd be better off also asking who's likely to go who didn't previously go to HCON this year, so you'll also get an idea of how many people are going that wouldn't have otherwise done so.

Since I didn't go to HCON this time, I can't vote, according to your specification.

civildisobedience07 Aug 2009 1:42 p.m. PST

50/50 at this point

Neotacha07 Aug 2009 2:17 p.m. PST

Oh, was there a date change? Oh, well.

We'll go next year; we're looking at every other year at H'con and the others doing something else. This year it was England, so no Historicon.

tancred07 Aug 2009 2:18 p.m. PST

no

jdpintex07 Aug 2009 2:22 p.m. PST

Yep

I was at Historicon and was wondering how many went because it was the last time in Lancaster. I'm asking those that have went. I don't want to hear from those that say they will or won't go and haven't gone before.

Well glad you came by and posted anyway. I think Blue Devil 88 had the best idea so far.

Ed how can it be a yes or no question.

I currently have two rooms reserved. I cheap one and a more expensive one and I am still on the fence.

Based on the PEL I might decide.

Also what special events/games is Two Hour Wargames going to hold.

Are you going to have a 64 man boxing tournament or some other event with new rules to entice us?

It is easy to say yes or no a year in advance and even make reservations since they can be cancelled.

The economy could be completely different in 6 months with unemployment back to 6%.

When do dealers have to decide on attending?

pzivh43 Supporting Member of TMP07 Aug 2009 5:25 p.m. PST

I plan to go.

MiniatureWargaming dot com07 Aug 2009 5:25 p.m. PST

I vowed not to go back to Lancaster, but WILL be going to Baltimore. Hopefully, I can even catch an Orioles game.

Wargame4fun07 Aug 2009 5:34 p.m. PST

Yes – My daughter and I will be there

evbates07 Aug 2009 5:47 p.m. PST

NO – The two gaming groups that are in my area all 20 HMGS memebers will not be going or hosting any games.

Ed the Two Hour Wargames guy07 Aug 2009 5:52 p.m. PST

Tiger G -
You're right. There's room for a not sure. I put non between two and six events per convention and that won't change.
I can only speak for myself and not other vendors. I budget my conventions yearly and as they finish during the year I adjust my next years schedule.

Blue Devil 8807 Aug 2009 7:19 p.m. PST

I blush Ed;) It is only common sense though. You know what they say about opinions…..
