Appears more making alternative plans TMP link than planning to go? TMP link
If you went to H-Con this year will you be going to Baltimore? As a vendor I'm interested in knowing. If possible, please limit your answers to a yes or no. Thanks! |

Yes. (But still not "scientific" and probably will not give you an accurate assessment of the numbers that will attend). |

I hate rules: I do not go to Historicon anymore. I may go to it in Baltimore however, depending on the the state of my job. |

No. However, reason is not the change of location (which I was against but would have not stopped me from going) but the change of date. |

Yes, but I agree about the date change as being problematic. It's hard to take 4 to 5 days off, right after a three-day weekend. |
| avidgamer | 07 Aug 2009 9:47 a.m. PST |
No. I haven't missed one in 10 years but I'll skip the Baltimore ones. |

Wouldn't it be worth also asking if people didn't go to HCon this year, whether they'll be going? That way you might find a few people who will be going because it's moving, as well as those who have decided not to go. But then you're probably not looking for an actual picture, just yet another whinefest. |

yes, I said I would give it a try. |

But then you're probably not looking for an actual picture, just yet another whinefest. No sorry, I'm past all that crap "The pro and con Historicon is going to Baltimore". I'm making decisions on which conventions to vend at next year. BTW – You didn't even vote. |

I only missed this year's Historicon due to financial reasons. I have made every other one since 1997. I will not be going to Baltimore. |
| Gil Bates | 07 Aug 2009 10:20 a.m. PST |
Neither myself nor my daughter will be going. |

Yes I plan to go and I did not go for the last three. The date is a real pain (too close to July 4)however. FWIW – I go to both Cold Wars (my favorite) and Fall In regularly and will continue regardless of Hcon effects. |

No! and why doesn't someone create a poll on the poll page for this topic with only yes, no, or don't know yet? This way we don't have to listen to opinions and no more 400 message topics. |

All 3 East Cons are variable for me due to work considerations. I usually don't know for sure until a month or so out. My decision is 1) time off 2) any family commitments and 3) how's the pocket book look. If all 3 are good then I'm there, if not there's always next year. I guess that makes me a definite maybe. I have missed one Historicon since '88 and enjoy going, seeing friends from all over & putting on games but I don't know. I hate driving in big , unknown cities. I may wait this one out. |

No sorry, I'm past all that crap "The pro and con Historicon is going to Baltimore". I'm making decisions on which conventions to vend at next year.BTW – You didn't even vote. Then as I said, you'd be better off also asking who's likely to go who didn't previously go to HCON this year, so you'll also get an idea of how many people are going that wouldn't have otherwise done so.
Since I didn't go to HCON this time, I can't vote, according to your specification. |

Oh, was there a date change? Oh, well. We'll go next year; we're looking at every other year at H'con and the others doing something else. This year it was England, so no Historicon. |

Since I didn't go to HCON this time, I can't vote, according to your specification. I was at Historicon and was wondering how many went because it was the last time in Lancaster. I'm asking those that have went. I don't want to hear from those that say they will or won't go and haven't gone before. Well glad you came by and posted anyway. I think Blue Devil 88 had the best idea so far. |

Ed how can it be a yes or no question. I currently have two rooms reserved. I cheap one and a more expensive one and I am still on the fence. Based on the PEL I might decide. Also what special events/games is Two Hour Wargames going to hold. Are you going to have a 64 man boxing tournament or some other event with new rules to entice us? It is easy to say yes or no a year in advance and even make reservations since they can be cancelled. The economy could be completely different in 6 months with unemployment back to 6%. When do dealers have to decide on attending? |

Yes – My daughter and I will be there |
| evbates | 07 Aug 2009 5:47 p.m. PST |
NO – The two gaming groups that are in my area all 20 HMGS memebers will not be going or hosting any games. |
| Ed the Two Hour Wargames guy | 07 Aug 2009 5:52 p.m. PST |
Tiger G - You're right. There's room for a not sure. I put non between two and six events per convention and that won't change. I can only speak for myself and not other vendors. I budget my conventions yearly and as they finish during the year I adjust my next years schedule. |
