To All Southern California TMP Members:

I would like for TMP members who like to meet from time to time for some miniatures gaming. I would like to have chance meet with some the people on TMP.

There are fair number of miniatures gamers in the Southern California and with less brick and mortar stores around and not alot of miniatures games being held at the local gaming conventions these days.

I live in the Glendale area and would like to know who lives in the neighboring cities. I few small armies but little terrain.

Hey David,

I live over in North Hollywood, what kind of games do you play?

Katwerks03 Aug 2009 6:46 a.m. PST

Mr. Harold:

I like play WWII land battles, science fiction, colonial era, fantasy, and wild west shootouts.

I am open to trying to trying periods in miniatures gaming. I also have been involved in roleplaying for a longtime.

Hi, David -

How long have you been here? I assume that you know about Last Grenadier in Burbank, but there's also Game Empire in Pasadena.

Gateway strategicon.net is coming on Labor Day weekend, and I suspect you might be able to find people from your area there.

Wyatt (just a bit too far south to be convenient)

Wyatt:

I have lived here all my life, I am familiar all the you have mentioned. The local gaming convention's attendance has been declining for along time now.

Morris,

My buddy and I have all types of periods, we mostly paint, but don't usually get around to playing too much ;) Recently we've begun building up Pulp/Call of Cthulhu stuff…

Hi David,

I'm nearby too – in Tujunga. You might want to go down to Anaheim this Saturday and check out the St. Crispin's group (we meet the second Saturday of every month). I know there will be a FOW and a Battletech game (there always is!), I'll be playing some ancients in the morning and WW II air in the afternoon.

There's also been quite a bit of gaming at Aero Hobbies in Santa Monica. I played a couple of games there last Saturday and I'll be there again on the 29th.

There's also the HMGS-PSW mini-convention at the Boy Scout hall in Glendale Oct. 16, 17, &18. I'll be running 2 Check Your 6! games on Saturday the 17th.

Send me a PM if you want directions or additional details for any of these.

Not yet Allen. Alex told me 2 Sundays ago (phone call) that he was going to get the PEL up "soon" but it hasn't happened yet.

According to what Alex told me, there should be a DBA tournament, a FOG tournament, a Napoleonic game (15 mm?), and at least 1 FOW game. Don't know which day any of these will be on though.

The only games I'm absolutely certain about are the 2 CY 6 games I'm running on Saturday in 1/285. First one will be a Battle of Britain scenario (escorted German bombing raid intercepted by the RAF) starting at 12:30, second is Wildcats vs. Zekes over Guadalcanal starting @ 3:30 – open ended, new players entering at any time, lasting until I get too tired.

Care to participate?

I'm sure there will be other games, I just don't know what yet.

That's good onfo. I'm not sure if we will be able to drive down, but it's not an event that requires a lot of pre-planning to attend.

Gonna try to get down to Anaheim, this saturday, to check it out ? heard that Crecy is bein' played with FOG.

darthfozzywig03 Aug 2009 10:04 p.m. PST

If you make it to the Westside, Aero Hobbies in Santa Monica has a 4 or so 6x4 tables up with minis games going on frequently.

darthfozzywig03 Aug 2009 10:08 p.m. PST

Guess I should add I frequently see 40k, WFB, WAB, FOW and D&D played there, and Keith (the owner) has variously run LotOW and LotHS campaigns (with some great terrain for the former in particular), as well as others.

Katwerks04 Aug 2009 4:16 a.m. PST

Thanks for all on the local gaming events.
