I just recently got into small scale WW2 gaming. My group is useing the "Disposable heros & coffin for seven brothers" rule set from Iron Ivan Games. We would like a simple computer program to manage logistics and encounters.

Basicaly we want the computer to be able to auto resolve battles and give outcomes according to game rules set.

The entire battle, or just in-game results?

I'm hoping for something that will allow blind movement by each player but also give battle outcomes if one player is unable to play a game.

For example: If the U.S. Players move units, and move a unit into a hex that contains a German unit, the program would spit out a scenario or encounter description. If the German players were unable to show up to game the scenario, then the program could resolve the conflict instantaneously and update the units involved.

Take a look at this link from Australia:

The program from Australia looks interesting. Has anyone tried it?

I use some of their games and the campaign module is good for miniatures. It allows you to

- create an army OB
- set up 2 or more armies for th campaign. You can have more than 2 sides as well, each with 2 or more armies.
- you do scouting and get contact reports. The module will either decie the outcome of an encounter itself or allow you to output the games onto the tabletop for a battle. (The battle module is included.) It then allows you to load the OBs back into the campaign after the battle.
- It estimates attrition due to sickness, straggling etc

The main limitations are (in my opinion)

- there is not a campaign for the WW1, WW2, Modern games, only for the prior periods.
- you need to actively manage your army, ie you have to send out scouting patrols etc to find the enemy. This is fair enough but you do have to do the work of the historical general.

I like it and would recommend it.

The guy is very enthusiastic and will listen to and add features if you suggest them and he agrees.

Try it they are about $US28 each. You also get solo.
