How many figures (1/48) would you advise per pack? The usual 4 per blister?maybe 5? or more? |

Depends on the price and what type of figure is in there. A pack of 5 radio operators would be 4 too many. 5 infantrymen would be ok though. |

Hard plastic – 20 seems like a good round number |

You could do various sizes, like a 4 man pack but also offer a 20 man unit builder type thing at a discount. |

I think a full strenght infantry squad/section with appropriate armament would be a good aim. |

Good ideas
a full infantry squad is a good challenge for a manufacturer, maybe in the unit builder option. What would it include for general WW2 armies? 8 rifles,2 smg,1 Lmg,1 AT weapon
so around 14 figures? |
| Griefbringer | 31 Jul 2009 2:32 p.m. PST |
More like 9-12 figures, depending on the year and country. And usually no dedicated anti-tank weapon on the squad/section level. |

Thanks but I will be releasing the range really soon like in 2 weeks or 3 so right now,for each army its a pack of 4 rifles and one with a Lmg and 2 Smg
so packs of 4. What would those 9-12 unit would normally be carrying for mid war Europe and desert? |

Lusitanus, if I were you I'd slow down my release schedule until I knew exactly what I was going to do. The decisions you make today will have impacts down the road. My two cents but I've been there. David kingsfordminiatures.org |

Outstanding work David! I totally hear you there, but I have been sculpting for too long now,and figures are being cast as we speak,I have around 10 different countries/armies for WW2 and more periods coming. Here is what I know:1/48 WW2 because of the vehicles and personal preference! |

My preference would be a 10 man squad. This is the usual for WW2. LMG and second with rifle or carbine. One or two SMG's, NCO's. One could carry a rifle. Six Riflemen. Most gamers will use squads in 28mm. Then a platoon command pack. Officer, Runner, NCO, radioman, and AT weapon of some sort. An AT Rifle, Bazooka, Panzershrek, Panzerfaust etc. After that I would sell each figure individually. So that someone can make up squads or add to them as needed. I would also make up an engineering squad of 10 men. If someone buys three squads and a Platoon pack throw in a couple of extra figures for free. Just MHO. Vancouver (White Rock) is a great place to live. |

I think selling complete squads as well as command squads would be the way to go I, by the way, completely agree that Vancouver is fantastic – I would live there if I could afford it! |

They're dead-on that most armies had the 9-12 man squad range IRL. If you've got a four-pack of rifleman and a pack with an LMG, assistant, and two SMGs, I'd make a section/squad/whatever be one of the LMG/SMG pack and two of the rifleman pack. That would get you started for most countries and be "close enough" that most of us would dip our toes into it. Hope that helps, Don. |

Lusitanus, I think you are working here on a bit odd fashion here, by sculpting and casting the figures first and only then starting to plan how you pack them. That said, if you could provide a list of nationalities for which you have sculpted models (and the time period of their dress), then it would not be too difficult to provide you with platoon and squad level TOEs. That said, I could provide here some of the most common squad compositions: * British (10 men per section) - 1 Section leader (SMG) - 1 Assistant leader (rifle) - 1 LMG gunner (Bren LMG) - 1 LMG loader (rifle, LMG spare barrel in carrier) - 6 riflemen (rifle) * US army (10 men per squad) - 1 Squad leader (rifle) - 1 Assistant squad leader (rifle) - 1 BAR gunner (BAR) - 1 BAR gunner assistant (rifle) - 1 BAR ammo bearer (rifle) - 7 Riflemen (rifle) * Germans, 1941-1943 (10 men per gruppe) - 1 Squad leader (SMG) - 1 Assistant squad leader (rifle) - 1 LMG gunner (LMG) - 1 LMG loader (rifle) - 1 LMG ammo bearer - 5 Riflemen (rifle) * Germans, late 1943-1945 (9 men per gruppe) - 1 Squad leader (SMG) - 1 Assistant squad leader (SMG) - 1 LMG gunner (LMG) - 1 LMG loader (rifle) - 5 Riflemen (rifle) More info can be easily found here: bayonetstrength.150m.com |

What about by team? For example; German Late War package A – 4 x rifles, 1 x Semi auto or SMG package B – 1 x LMG, 2 x rifle, 1 x SMG Buy teams A and B get a grenadier squad, buy 2 x team B and have panzergrenadiers. Same can be done for platoon command, company comand, heavy weapons etc and the other combatants. |

Thank you very much, and Griefbringer I have planed 4 per pack as classic with other companies, the spare barrel for the Bren LMG would be carried in a canvas big rectangular shaped case, with a pointed end and some pouches? Monongahela great suggestion I really have 4 each so re-doing 2 soldiers for each set would be quite a bit of work now. However I can see producing the other sets:Anti-tank and HMG with extra soldiers as to include more rifle and SMG on the initial Rifle and LMG/Command sets. Best regards Gui |

the spare barrel for the Bren LMG would be carried in a canvas big rectangular shaped case, with a pointed end and some pouches? Something like that. I do not have any picture references at hand. |
