So we have a LotOW campaign at our LGS. We have to get in a set amount of games in the month. However a certain clique will only play against each other so those not in the group cannot get in games. This would no be so anowying if it was not for the fact I paid to get in this camnpaign. Shouldn't campaigns be set up so anyone can get in a game? What do you think would be the best way to do it? |

"This would no be so anowying if it was not for the fact I paid to get in this campaign." ??? You PAID to join this campaign? I thought these gaming tables at LGSs were available to anyone for free

"Shouldn't campaigns be set up so anyone can get in a game?" yes and you should be askng for your money back. |

Is the store running the campaign or is someone else running it? I do know of stores that charge a membership fee for people to play on their tables. |

If the regs or the vets are doing the protagonists just throw in newbies as the opposition. No need to keep anyone out of the fun esp. if they paid. |

Bring it up with whomever you paid and demand your money back. |

I would also suggest that you talk to the organizer first explain your position . Then maybe suggest that a Round Robin type of tournament would more fair. Failing that maybe you should ask for your money back. Or you could do what I would do. Call out the players who won't play with you. Tell them that they are nuttin but a bunch of Yella Bellied Cowards! Well it is Legends of the Old West |

If I paid to play, and I ain't playin', then someone has robbed me. I would promptly take it up with whoever I paid, and seek redress. |

I can see where a group might have to pay to play at the LGS. So dues are appropriate. Just the same, if you contribute, you should be included in the activities. If you don't make a monetary contribution, the others have to pay more. We have had problems with guys that only want to play at certain times and certain locations. This can make it difficult to get a game sometimes. But if you are relatively flexible, I think the actions of the 'core group' are ultimately going to be destructive. The thing you have to remember is that some play to have fun, some play for the spectacle and some play to assuage their egos. If you are dealing with the latter, you might be well advised to find other opponents. mjc |

"However a certain clique will only play against each other so those not in the group cannot get in games." There are two possibilities here: 1) They're jerks. 2) They've had too many jerks show up and ruin games (temper tantrums, cheating, refusal to accept reasonable interpretations of the rules
). |

Talk to Swearengen, he'll have Dan take care of the bleep bleepers. I would talk to the organizer, if no satisfaction, get your money back and get your games going. |

Explain your position to the organizer and if he fails to change his ways demand a refund. I would also make it clear that future interactions may be impacted based on decisions made today. |

I'm curious, though- did you pay to enter the actual campaign (i.e., pay the rganizers of it, in some form or another), or pay for the priviledge/right to game at the store where the campaign is being held? If it's the first, then I'd have to agree- you've got a genuine case here, and good cause to be disgruntled. If you paid for gaming priviledges at the store, however, and are upset that a certain group is running said game there, solely amongst themselves, then, alas, I'd say it's fair cop on their part. - Monk |

Dragon Gunner: Explain your position to the organizer and if he fails to change his ways demand a refund. I would also make it clear that future interactions may be impacted based on decisions made today. He is correct. You need to speak to someone before you take an action. I do, however, suggest that you create written documentation of: - How much you paid - Dates the game was played - Dates you were able to play Have two or three copies of this on hand when you go in to discuss things. Nothing speaks louder than facts printed clearly in black & white. |
