Got mine when it was first released (from Miniature Giant) and just got him painted up. We chopped off the "bridge" between his feet so he could be mounted on the same washers as everyone else.

He is a little large but still fits in ok.

Here he is compared to a Dixon on the left and an Old Glory on the right.

And here he is next to an Artizan on the left and a Crusader (also remounted) on the right.

Never knew Clint was so tall :)

Of course, as a "HERO" Clint should tower over the mere mortals.

6'2" according to imdb.com. (Hey, I've nothing better to do).

no it is just the other actors are so short

adub7416 Jul 2009 11:40 a.m. PST

"on slightly higher bases"

Sort of like what they did with Humphrey Bogart and Tom Cruise so they don't get dwarfed by their leading ladies.

I'm a scale heretic. I use Cowboy Wars 25's and Great Rail Wars 28-30's in the same games! Artizan matches right up to GRW and I'm sure Reaper does as well.

I like the figure. But wow, he is pretty big.

Thanks,

John

Their eyes are lower than his heart. How you can possibly say they work together is beyond me.

Mr Brightside16 Jul 2009 8:34 p.m. PST

Actually they don't work too well but the piece was cool enough to justify the purchase for me. Ordinarily I do shy away from Reaper minis for the fact that they don't mix well with other minis.

I bought the rest of the Reaper old west figures they seem to match well with Black Scorpions old west range

I'm not too bothered by the height issue. Put Clint at about 6'5" the foundry guy at about 5'10" and the Dixon guy at about 5'7". I'm much more bothered by the gigantic craniums of the Dixon figs. One thing I always liked about the Foundry Street violence range was the fact that they made a variety of heights and weights.

Skinny vs. Chunky figures are a much worse fit to me than some variance in height. Take super skinny figures like the Dead Will Walk Zombies and put them next to chunky figures like TAG and they look much more out of place.

I've never varied bases to adjust height but I did base most of my moderns on thick bases so that 1/48 vehicles would look right next to them.

Big fellow – don't want to meet him in a dark alley

SpuriousMilius17 Jul 2009 6:16 p.m. PST

If Dixon figs had legs in proper proportion to their torsos & arms then they would be a little taller (I agree that their heads are too large also).

Brian Smaller17 Jul 2009 11:18 p.m. PST

I see you have him next to Ben Cartwright in the second comparison picture.

Mr Brightside18 Jul 2009 8:14 a.m. PST

Yes that's my not-Ben Cartwright. He is from OG's Cowboy Wars line.

I'm 5'6" & a beefy 240. many of the guys I work with make me look very small. I know a lot of guys that are quite a bit smaller than me too. My own brothers are all over 6'. There is even a guy here at work whose belt buckle is eye level to me. A freind of mine is a member of NSSA, I went to watch them shoot on Memorial Day weekend a few years ago. He was at least twice as wide as the guy next to him in line, and there was just as much variety in heigth there too. I get tired of petty whining about scale. As long as most of the figures you use are similar in size a few tall or short or big or skinny just ad character to the game.

DS615128 Aug 2009 10:11 a.m. PST

There's always big and small guys, so they look good to me.
We used to have a server guy here that was 5' exactly, and a application guy that was 7' 4". That was always amusing to see them work together.

I would make one small conversion: cut a piece of wire and fashion a cigar out of it, hanging from his mouth.

wa ah ah ah ah, wa wa wa.

I did think of putting a puddle of tobacco juice at his feet but decided against it.
