I'd like to draw your attention to the game that Eureka Miniatures will be running at next years Little Wars Melbourne – yes, its actually being planned twelve months in advance! Germany has started breeding dinosaurs as an army of terror – now the Allies must stop this primeval threat. You can find out more at the game's own dedicated blog: jurassicreich.wordpress.com .While it is a "proper" game, some of the background is tongue-in-cheek and we hope fun. And you see the terrain table for the game being created by Alan Harrison (aka dagorlad) at link . Alan made the magnificent London table for the Pax Limpopo game at 2008 Little Wars Melbourne. Your comments are most welcome – or you can mail jurassicpark at gmail.com. Of course, you can also ask Nic Robson if you are at Historicon! The whole concept has captured our imagination – we hope it does yours! Regards Greg Hallam |

Tyrannosaurus Reichs? Lol – I may have to use that! |

I am having an enormous amount of fun producing the table for this game and my six year old son is even helping too, which is great. While the "Nazi dinosaur" concept is pure pulp, the table is being produced to the finest level of detail I can manage because I plan on using it for several other games set in Europe, not just during the Second World War. It will be compatible with any European conflict from the 15th century onwards. I will be regularly updating my blog ( spodding.tabletopwargaming.com ) over the coming months. There's a lot to do – a castle, a farmhouse, dino-lager (a secure compound for the dinosaurs), and a 4' x 8' table. Feel free to drop by and leave comments. |

What about the Irish Republican Army with Peter O'Dactyl and Tyrone O'Saurus? |

Yeah, I've got a half-converted Tyrannosaurus Reich made from a D&D plastic fiendish t-rex. Really need to finish him. |

Too true, Loren – there is nothing new under the sun – I was delighted to find this, from issue 1 of Shaana the She Devil, 1972

You need to tie this in with the conspiracy theories about the Nazi-Reptiloid alliance and the Schriever flying saucers. |

That table looks spectacular already, and how can you lose with Nazi Dinos stomping around scenery that awesome? |

Seems rather over-endowed for a reptile . . . the 70s were a different time and a different place, I guess. Loren Wiseman GDW Emeritus |

I love the idea!! Looks like it's going to be great fun. Where's Richard Burton & Squint-like-Clint Eastwood going to be? Where are the Pterodactyls from? |
Dagorlad | 04 Aug 2009 6:21 p.m. PST |
I think Clint Eastwood might be down in the village stealing some gold with Telly Savalas. But I'm sure he'll be up at the castle on the next available cable car. The Pterodactyl is from Eureka Miniatures – eurekamin.com.au – not sure if they are on their web store, but if you contact Nic Robson I'm sure you'll find he's a very helpful guy (nicr at eurekamin.com.au). |
