Long story short….tried, several times to order an small item thru MBA, and each time (3 tries)…I ran into issues with paypal, stating that MBA 'required' me to verify my shipping address by adding 'another' credit card…(when I already had one on file/my address was ALREADY verified!)

I emailed them about it…and finally asked to have a paypal invoice sent so I could pay it that way…(as paypal INSISTED I add 'another card' on their order form, but on my paypal account…I was 'ok'/verified/my cc was ok!)

Anyway…the representative I emailed with, Claudia did send me note saying they'd invoice me for the item, but before that could happen, I got another email from Mr. Kirk Stephens telling me that he 'understood my frustration' and that he'd had issues (apparently) with paypal too and was just sending me the item…FREE!

It arrived today…and I wanted folks to know that I was very impressed with the 'above and beyond' attention to my concerns that MBA showed…

I'm not usually the FIRST to complain when something isn't 'right'…but when I do, I like to be specific…

But when someone, a business, like these folks…goes 'out of THEIR way'…to leave me with 'good kharma/a warm fuzzy feeling' about something…

I WANT folks to know that, and that I'll remember them when it comes to ordering any more 'cool' stuff…(like their 'Jeppson's Jungle Bar' for example???!!!)

Slishfully,
Sgt DWW-btod
aka-David Pinnick

Kirk is a great guy. I'm not surprised, but I'm glad you took the time to give the deserved praise.

I've actually had the opposite experience. I have tried to contact MBA a number of times to do a preorder of their limited edition stuff. Tried to email the address on the webpage and never once have I had a reply.

Maybe it's because I'm from overseas and they are not intersted in international business?

We have always had good service from them.

Lupus1, you may be experiencing some sort of spam filter problem. Emails can be unreliable that way.

I've never had any dealing with Kirk and the MBA bunch that wasn't great. (Plus they are the silent owners of Yoders Plain & Fancy)

sometimes the 'spam filtering' programs HURT more than they 'help' with some things! Not that some filtering isn't necessary, but even with my yahoo mail, I've had stuff I've just 'cc'd to MYSELF go directly to spam, while stuff I've NEVER asked for/have submitted AS spam…(multiple times), keeps coming thru as 'regular mail'…(Canadian Pharmacy, 'knock-off watches, cologns, 'male-enhancement suppliments' and some REALLY silly 'spam-scams', really OFF the WALL stuff!)

And after today's 'cyber-attacks'…on US/SK 'public/govt info' websites by 'person's unknown'…(oh, REAAAALLLY? I think we need to dispatch the 'loo-squad hit-tentacles' to Mr. Jong II' slish of the woods????)

Like I said…when I feel 'jilted' I let folks know…but on the other tentacle, when folks go ABOVE and BEYOND, (and I don't 'impress' that easily!)…then they deserve to be told about it and other folks told about it too!

MBA rocks!

You could be correct about being the victim of a overzealous spam filter, but I have tried using two email accounts with the same result. No reply. While one was a yahoo account, the other was my home account linked to my ISP.

Not sure what else I can do. Which is a real bummer since I really wanted to order some of the limited edition stuff.

Last year I put in an order and only got a portion of the stuff I was charged for. It was a large order and the portion I was shorted was over $100. USD They never responded to my emails. When I called I only ever got voice mail. I left messages but never a return call. I eventually had to go to my CC company and dispute the charge. I don't feel safe ordering from them now.

KIrk Stephens is a forthright and upstanding citizen in my opinion. Whenever I have sent an e-mail or left a phone message, I always receive a reply. Sometimes, it might be a bit longer than others (due to his full time business, or military matters – he is a major in the armed forces, and convention schedule), but he has always responded. Once I received only part of an order. A quick phone call, and Kirk rersponded immediately. I received an apology and all of the remaining product within a week, and it had to cross the border into Canada and go through Canada Customs which in itself can be a nightmare.

Mr. Whitten, try to contact Kirk again and let him know the problem…mind you, you probably should do it either now or wait about 7 – 10 days after Historicon as they will be swamped getting the new pieces out for the upcoming new releases in early August. They will also be going to Gencon

Lupus1, the same goes for you as well. Try again. I know that when I sent an e-mail to Kirk in June, I forgot that he would be attending Origins…he did reply about 7 days later, and apologized for being slow in responding.

Another note to remember, MBA will be attending Gencon whenever that convention is (shortly after Historicon), and I know that these guys do in fact attend that show as well. Be patient. KIrk and Jim are good people, and they are not out to screw you over, otherwise, they would have been put out of business along time ago!!

Mr. Whitten,

Please contact me to disucss your above comments. I don't remember any traffic from you, but I need to research and see where the problem was. We occasionally have an issue being a small part time business, but we always rectify the situation.

Sincerely,

Kirk Stephens

Lupus1,

Well, I really don't just blow off e-mails. We have an order going to AUS next week. I will have to check my SPAM filters, and see what is going on.

Sincerely,

Kirk

Dear Mr. Stephens,

I have sent you an email with the order number and the issue I had with my order. Hopefully you can ease me of my fears so I will be willing to order more products from the MBA in the future.

Careful,

The email address listed in KirkatMBA's first post is incorrect.
