Following on this thread about New Blood TMP link I got to wondering what the average attendance on most club nights is.

I occasionally frequent the Harrogate Wargames Club, and they seem to average 20 to 25.

At my local club, the Huntingdon and District Wargames Society we must average 40. On busy nights it can go over 50. (This excludes a unconnected role playing contingent of about 12 players who share the same room)

We get between 9 and 16 out every other Tuesday. An average would be about 11. This is a goodly number for most Canadian clubs, I think!

nickinsomerset06 Jul 2009 7:12 a.m. PST

Down at the George PH in East Coker, (Yeovil) we – South Somerset Wargames Group – manage 12 – 16, at present we don't have a massive area – a skittle alley – so those numbers are good, although all clubs should aim to expand through the roof!

streetline06 Jul 2009 7:15 a.m. PST

The Exmouth Club averages about a dozen, maybe a couple more. The Exeter clubs like Ryga's are bigger, say 30+ when I last popped in?

nazrat06 Jul 2009 7:23 a.m. PST

Our attendance has rapidly died off so now I'm lucky if one or two show up. My group is effectively dead.

Captain Clegg06 Jul 2009 7:42 a.m. PST

Average between 6 and 8 at my club.

Anyone live near marlow in Bucks want to play on a regular basis?

TodCreasey06 Jul 2009 7:54 a.m. PST

We share with a boardgames club. We usually do 5-15 people and they do 5-10 – yesterday we hit 25 total so that was a good day.

Flames of War Firestorm has seemed to breath some more life into us – I am hoping for 15-10 people per session for those days.

Martin Rapier06 Jul 2009 8:11 a.m. PST

Sheffield Wargames Club, on a good night around 40.

Sane Max06 Jul 2009 8:17 a.m. PST

Harrogate and Ripon District – we average about 15.

It covers the rent, and is better than it was.

Vulture – how are the Other Harrogate club doing? We are the one on Dene Park BTW.

White Rock Gamers average 8 an evening, max 13 or 14, minimum 4. We play every Thursday except in the summer.
Trumpeters Club gets approx 60 to 100 on a Friday night, once a month.

xxxxxxxxooooo06 Jul 2009 8:59 a.m. PST

Houston 77th

Between 8-10 usually.

Tom Reed06 Jul 2009 9:16 a.m. PST

Champaign Historical gamers have unfortunatley suffered some great losses over the past year. Now we usually have 3-6 people show up.

Historicalgamer06 Jul 2009 10:46 a.m. PST

Reading Area Wargamers (PA) averages 10-12 per Thursday night meeting.

bruntonboy06 Jul 2009 11:06 a.m. PST

SASRA in West Cumbria about 30 on avaerage but that icludes everyone.

Figure gamers only about 10-20% of this, usually about 4-5.

Twenty on a quiet night. Fifty five is the most I've ever counted.

wehrmacht06 Jul 2009 1:33 p.m. PST

Generally six to eight of the lads at my house on Thursdays, plus me.

Cheers

geudens06 Jul 2009 1:39 p.m. PST

TSA (Antwerp – Belgium) – every Fridaynight – 50 if it's slow, 80+ when crowded.

Billiam06 Jul 2009 3:08 p.m. PST

Metro Seattle Gamers (WA, USA) – Open most days; 6 or so on a weeknight and about twice that on a Saturday. A little harder to compare to those previously mentioned since it isn't a weekly/monthly 'event' but a full-time clubhouse.

quidveritas06 Jul 2009 4:10 p.m. PST

I am so jealous.

We vary from 3 to 8 on most Fridays when we play. But . . . we really don't have 'clubs' in the sense that most of you do. It's a funny thing about Spokane. There's a lot of gamers in the area but not a lot of interaction between those groups.

Tom Reed06 Jul 2009 6:48 p.m. PST

Yeah, the Champaign-Urbana area gamers are very cliquish too. The historical gamers, numbering about 5-6, have lost a couple of guys for various reasons but have gained one new guy.

It's been hard to get any of the other gamers interested in the historical side of the hobby.

6-8 for the hard core. Since our "club house" is my basement, I am not really looking to "grow" the hobby. grin

ezza12307 Jul 2009 1:41 a.m. PST

The Exiles the-exiles.ning.com have roughly 6-8 players every Thursday. So far this year the lowest attendance has been 5 and the highest 11.

legatushedlius07 Jul 2009 3:20 a.m. PST

We usually get a dozen at Guildford Wargames Club, sometimes more. Not me very often, though!

Vulture07 Jul 2009 3:45 a.m. PST

Forgot to mention that both clubs (Harrogate and Huntingdon) meeting every Thursday.

Sane Max
Glad to hear your H&RD club is still going strong. The other Harrogate club (still using the Royal Airforce Association Club (RAFA) seems to be doing well, with a hardcore of regulars that sustain it. Had a enjoyable game of Flames of War there back in Feb. link and link

Cheers

Big P from GMG07 Jul 2009 3:45 a.m. PST

We get a regular 5 attendees out of a total of 6 members every Friday…

Not bad for a small club in Ireland.

We do have a couple new members on the way though…

Lowtardog07 Jul 2009 7:46 a.m. PST

Varies but usually 12 -20 at the Tring club in Herts

TheDreadnought07 Jul 2009 8:33 a.m. PST

Tom – I'm out of Bloomington. Where and when do you guys meet in Champaign?

Fat Wally07 Jul 2009 12:37 p.m. PST

1-4 blokes at my place on a friday evening, fortnightly. Any more than that and I need to move house.

We usually take it in turns to host games but I host more than my fair share.

not bing07 Jul 2009 2:47 p.m. PST

8-10 most wendesday nights the Escape Committee Burnham on Sea Somerset England. All welcome esp if you have a thick skin. Oh and Lowtardog were watching you……

Lincombe Barn club in Bristol

we usualy have 5 or 6 games on a Sunday afternoon with about 16 playig and usualy a few others drop by for a chat.

Ascent08 Jul 2009 1:18 a.m. PST

We get around a dozen on a Sunday evening. Not bad for a small club in the middle of nowhere. I thought that was low but it looks kind of average.

MotttheHoople08 Jul 2009 8:00 a.m. PST

Deeside Defenders (nr Chester UK) averages 25 – 30 weekly on Thursday evenings. We have bad nights (10-12) and worse nights (40+).

jameshammyhamilton10 Jul 2009 1:12 p.m. PST

Manchester Area Wargames Club – UK

Monday night meetings, 20 on a slack night, 35 or so on a busy one.

Sundays, 4 to 10 depending.

Our biggest problem looks like it might be running out of space for tables.

Ianrs5411 Jul 2009 9:43 a.m. PST

Varies a bit – maximium of roughly 35-40, with an average of 25, and low of 10-15 on Thursday night, with our Sunday's running to a maximum of 10, nprmally 5-6.

Deeside defenders – at Broughton, in the Airbus Sports and Social.
