While I have spent a lot of time recently looking at the USN forces needed for either game system, I thought It about time that I had got on with some of the DRV equipment.

This is just a couple of shots of a MiG-17 that I did a while ago but only just got around to putting any photos up.
Wrong cam scheme for the serial number but close enough for me as a gamer.

I will add the SA-2, Targets and the rest of the aircraft as I go for both systems (they have some similarities that one element can be used for either game which is always a boon for gamers (and we have even opted for a common basing policy when playing).

Si, thats a nice Mig. Ive got mine sprayed silver but have not gone on from there. Look forward to what you are planning for targets/AAA/SAMS. Are not the CinC SAMS 1/300? I would think they are too big. I was using 1/600 scale for this but am experimenting with 1/1200 and 1/2400.

I wish Downtown was not so complicated. The game makes my eyes glaze over.

Nice job. Mine aren't painted yet. I did finish my earlier Mig 15's and F-86's though.

Thanks,

John

Al, you are correct the CinC ones are 1/300. They are fine as markers. I am looking at adding some 1/600th SA-2 from Oddzial Ozmy when I go to the show at Newbury. From a game perspective they look okay (obviously in my opinion). Ground elements need to be overscale otherwise they get lost on the surface. They also look menacing and scare the opposition!!!.

Downtown isn't to bad as long as you keep it simple to start with. Follow the guided reading section and do the scenarios as suggested and you will be fine.

Downtown takes some work, but it's worth it. A two player game is usually a pretty tense few hours with both players needing to make a lot of decisions. Look for Elusive Victory on the Arab-Israeli Wars coming out here any day now.

Are you going to include the Fan Song radar array as well? What truck would be appropriate for hauling it?

I thought about using the radar model for the FIRE CANs. I have no idea about the "real" towing vehicles/transport method
