Can anyone suggest the best Vallejo color for the upper surfaces of a Super Etendard circa 1980ish? I've looked through several books and the color ranges from distincly gray to gray-blue to more of a blue depending on which source I am looking at.

Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated.

Luftwaffe Uniform worked for me.

If memory serves, deep deep blue (not "dark" specifically) something along the lines of the current French French Armée de l'Air blue camo'd with a darkened USN grey.

Something like this: picture

Although, I have to say that every time I see a picture, just like that darned Israeli tan/sand colour, it looks different.
