Let's say in the last year or so, what rules did you use most often? I would also like to hear from those who invented their own rules. Just curious to see what's popular with the TMP Napoleonic crowd at the moment

Grande Armee by old pancreas, or who/whatever he is this week :) |

"Age of Eagles" is my favorite, but I've played 1st editon "Napoleon's Battles" recently. Lord Ashram's "Musket and Mustaches" 2nd Edition makes for a fun game. |
| Valmy92 | 04 Jul 2009 7:46 a.m. PST |
Over the last year (several actually) we've played more Age of Eagles than anything else. A couple of games of Le Feu Sacre and a group test drive of Grande Armee. Phil |

Volley and Bayonet. Oooh, Big surprise. |
Frederick | 04 Jul 2009 7:50 a.m. PST |
Age of Eagles We used to play a lot with a set of rules by Peter Kingsman called Masse du Rupture, but now use AoE |
| wrgmr1 | 04 Jul 2009 7:58 a.m. PST |
Shako 2, and a fair amount of it too. We were getting into shape for our Wagram project. |

Napoleon's Battles exclusively |
| bruntonboy | 04 Jul 2009 8:32 a.m. PST |
"Regimente of Foote", boringly the same result as for at least the last three years. |
| Midpoint | 04 Jul 2009 8:49 a.m. PST |
Six months gao – LFS. Now Shako 2 almost exclusively |
| MichaelCollinsHimself | 04 Jul 2009 8:54 a.m. PST |
A local group`s rules – once a week. These are used for land-based games of all periods. I also play & umpire my own Napoleonic rules (which some of you chaps are already aware) and some DBA/M adaptations for Ancients and Medievals. |

Well, We used to game exclusively with 1st edition Napoleon's Battles in 15mm. Nobody ever bought the updated set, and with the house rules mods we added, it works pretty well for us. However, now that the Perry & Victrix plastics are out, I've gone to a Napoleonic-era mod for WAB/WHF. |

I've been playing an adaptation of the Leipzig Lite rules from the Baccus website. Now I've received my copy of Russ Lockwood's Snappy Nappy rules I'll be playing several games with them. |
| M C MonkeyDew | 04 Jul 2009 11:32 a.m. PST |
Paddy Griffith's rules for anything larger than skirmish and a modified from of our Six Gun Sound: Blaze of Glory for skirmishes. Although now that I've tried Snappy Nappy, will probably use those mostly for the larger games. |

No surprise here
Snappy Nappy. [And thank you for the kind comments above] Snappy Nappy is for big games, where each player wants to control a corp (or at least a division if you bump the scale down from 2 stands = 1 brigade unit to 2 stands = 1 regt unit). For smaller battles, where each player controls one brigade, the group plays Empire V. |

My own – heavily adapted from Young and Grant. |
| Defiant | 04 Jul 2009 3:33 p.m. PST |
My own set, Btln level 1:40 scale National charactoristics Revolving Eliteness levels Casualties in men, not figures Best suited up to Corps level (10,000-30,000 per side) Brigade Activation, but movement in btlns etc. Very detailed Command Control system Individual Commander statistics for every nation's Generals Morale Based system Very detailed Artillery rules The battle of Maida was fought out in three hours, our re-fight of this battle ended exactly on the three hour mark. For huge battles the system blows out well more than a single sesion could handle. This system is not suited for Club games in a single day unless playing such battles as Maida, Saalfield and so on
Comments I have received from guys who have joined my group is that they are complex but are the most realistic system they have ever played and that they are totally hooked. I am working on a simplified version that will one day be published. Shane |

easy: link And gratified to see so many copies now 'out there' and being used and, with a 'festival' to come, seems many players agree the rules met their 'brief'. The Charity is also delighted, of course. |
