found this

picture

for £0.99 GBP

and this

picture

for £2.99 GBP in my local toys r us.

I WANT them both but can not for the life of me work out what i can do with either of them in the context of my current projects. The airship would work for anything up the 15mm (at a push). However at about 6" long it seems just too big for HOTT (which is what i would prob use for at the moment). It would look AMAZING with the black hat VSF 15mm, but i am way beyond my project capacity already and , despite the fact that i love that range, i just can not do that to myself just yet. Maybe a couple in the attic to use at a later date…..

The carriage looks to be pretty much 25mm size, though "heroic" minis might result in a need for a bigger chair for the driver. I can think of any number of uses for this, only problem is they all relate to projects that i do not currently have under way. As i said i must be strong….

At those prices, I might actually be tempted to buy those myself. General principle being "when it's cheap, you must buy it". As exemplified by the (real world) Finnish army tank deal with Germans a decade and a half, or so, back.

The airship I might just be able to justify as a space ship of some sort. I need more of those like I need an extra hole in the head.

Have a look at the Lead Adventures Forum, VSF forums, these have both appeared. Young Bullshott has some completed examples of the carriage. I have a number of both, once I return to VSF the Airships will be used as single man air/ground attack platforms and the carriages will be either arty prime movers or personnel transporters, electrically powered! (All 28mm)

Tally Ho!

I cannot find where I saw it, but someone flipped the Zeppelin upside down and painted it up to be a one/two submarine. Bainted brass, with all those little rivits all over it, it looked wonderful.

This is Doc McB. The airship is a royal courier of the dwarven airforce. It even has the right logo on it, for Mountain Home.

The other one will appear whenever I play Deadlands/Great Rail Wars again.

i have few of the carriages picked up at poundland, I know that the airship has also turned up in a few store's but nothing local to me. One thing i did pick up is an "action figure" 3/14 or 4 inich approx scale "armoured bear" Boyrn I think, at a pound I thought why not still have no ideas as to what to use it for.
Keep an eye out for the twin gas balloned airship for that scale the twin bags are like two PVC beach balls but the main body is a fair size plstic cannopy,a good start for a large areoflyer got one for £7.99 GBP at Poundstrecher chain in the UK.

The twin gas balloned airship picture is available at Toys R Us for £1.99. It was rude not to buy a couple. :D

Buy a couple ! I have about a dozen or more :) cleared the shelves of my local Pundland and even whent to another branch to get thier's.The main body is going to be replaced with the body of the TIE crawler from the Star Wars range of figures.Remove both sets of tracks (which measure up quite well as alternatives to GW Chimeras) and attach the air bags to each side of the body add small power plant and rear propeller.

With a quick splodge of paint I was thinking Weird War single-man spotter or VSF New British Empire Air Service.

@Chantyam – interesting idea. You planning for VSF or Weird War?

CHANTYAM25 Jul 2009 7:56 a.m. PST

VSF mainly as I cannot see the Airbags quite fitting the updated technology as the war dragged on ,perhaps as a last grasp weapon as the war gets desperate for Herr Hinkel and the double X, as the nose cone always reminded me of a Henkel bomber.
I saw the TIE crawlers on I think 'Work in Progress' web site as someone was using the tracks for his guard army and going to scratch build wings for what was left to turn them back into TIE fighters (they do have a tail that would need removing)-an e-bay search and I had four from a seller in the USA within a week.
