Here is a photo-overkill of the South London Warlords' 28mm game for those who'd like to see it. Tanks and infantry assault to gain control of a German occupied town, while local Resistance try to beat them to it:

Very nice terrain. Love the nuns. And the German Wehrmacht babe is cute, too.

donlowry01 Jul 2009 11:24 a.m. PST

Very nice terrain, but looks more like high summer than Dec-Jan!

Cacadores01 Jul 2009 12:08 p.m. PST

The sun came out that day, I expect :-)

Warlord01 Jul 2009 12:22 p.m. PST

Very, very nice.

Fantastic game! Wish I could have been there.

Uhm,

maybe the hot sun towering over London has melted my brain, but why talking of the bulge and using pictures of a N O R M A N D Y game?

I hope you had half as much fun playing the game as I had looking at the pictures. Very nice stuff!

Yes surely the photos are of the Normandy game that was at Salute?

Cacadores01 Jul 2009 2:29 p.m. PST

Arrigo,
''maybe the hot sun towering over London has melted my brain, but why talking of the bulge and using pictures of a N O R M A N D Y game?''

It's the Battle of the Bulge game :-)

Arrigo01 Jul 2009 3:14 p.m. PST

no it is the wonderfil Normandy table shown at salute! I swear (and it is also said in the messages that it is the Normandy game displayed at salute)

:-)

Naturally, I did ask where the game (and not the players waistlines) was set whilst it was being set up and was told categorically by one of my setter upper collegues that it's the Battle of the Bulge. So despite misleading information to the contrary posted just about everywhere else, not to mention my own doubts, the Battle of the Bulge it has become. :-) Anyone can see it's the Meuse at Namur :-)

donlowry01 Jul 2009 5:12 p.m. PST

I thought it looked familiar.

Cacadores01 Jul 2009 5:14 p.m. PST

Exactly.

Quadratus01 Jul 2009 5:16 p.m. PST

terrain is mind numbingly good! mmmm, terrain!

Seventhcav02 Jul 2009 8:45 a.m. PST

Where did you get the figures from? Wehrmacht babe especially. Models for the armor and artillery also? thanks, 7th

Arrigo02 Jul 2009 9:12 a.m. PST

No it is not the meuse at Namur… maybe the Ourthe at Clervaoux… I think this time we are seeing a a bulge of errors!

from the south london warlords website:

Normandy 1944 GF08 Demonstration SOUTH LONDON WARLORDS WW2 28mm British try to break through towards a major river despite hasty German defences. Meanwhile the Resistance try to liberate the town before the British arrive.

I am still thinking some one has posted the wrong pictures…

… or we are wrong and the bulge happend in summer! There was french resistance involved and no americans… and the Germans were defending… it can be!

donlowry02 Jul 2009 2:57 p.m. PST

I meant that the pictures look familiar -- as in someone posted them before, D-Day.

Janick02 Jul 2009 3:19 p.m. PST

That is some awesome terrain and kit there…very impressive!

Brad :)

A cracking set of terrain, figures and looks like a lot of fun to play too.

Anyone know who made the buildings? Are the grand manner?
I know some of them are hovels ones, as I have the same, but wondering about the town buildings.

Fred Cartwright06 Aug 2009 10:53 a.m. PST

Where did you get the figures from? Wehrmacht babe especially.

I'm sure I recognised Yvette and Michelle outside one of the buildings too! :-)

RenRagSOB07 Aug 2009 11:14 p.m. PST

How many rounds of ammo did the average tank BOTH side contain within the tank???

Mal Wright Fezian09 Aug 2009 4:24 p.m. PST
