I wonder if someone could identify the cannon on an image found on this years Historicon theme page. The image showing what seems to be English napoleonic siege train. picture I'm dead sure I have a pair of those. Bought them second hand & do not know where to find more of them. Thanks, Christian |

H'mm, difficult to say
but from the wheels, they MIGHT be Hinchcliffe 18pdrs? |

Dear Christian The gun is modelled upon an British 18th gun carriage that was used during the AWI. The wheels are characteristic with the metal strengthening and the squared trail. I think the barrel is a French 12-pdr. An interesting conversion. Dimensions and a shot of the breech would make it easier to identify. The limber is could be French M1765 limber with british wheels. At the time bronze guns were replaced by Blomefield Iron Guns in mid 1811. Stephen |

Dear Stephen, Thanks for your details. I'll get back to you on the Saxon artillery book soon. Very busy currently. Haven't found the time to read through it yet. Christian |
