I've danced around this question before and spent countless hours on the internet, but still don't feel like i've answered it. So hopefully for the last time i have to bother anyone with a question like this: What two MM enemal colors would you for sure reccomend for soviet uniform color. One for the winter padded tunic, one for the summer gymnastiorka Tunic. I know they varied in color etc etc, but what MM colors should i use?

Thanks for any help with my redundant questions

Any mixture of brown or green--Doesn't really matter for Russkies

Sort of sandy brown with a hint of green looks nice.

But Arch is right, the uniform colours weren't very uniform.

Late war, the sort of dark green seems to have become more common.

There wasn't a specific color.

~as stated a wide mix of colors from a light tan to dark green and everything in between. For the Ushanka, the fur caps, the body is of the same type wool as the overcoats, and the fake fur is a colour from tan to ovile green, to off white.

I usually paint mine with a dark brown for overcoats, and a olivey green for trousers, sometimes lightening or darkening the mix a tad for varied looks across the ranks. Mustard greens, khakis, and tans all can be used and mixed.

The figures look good with a bit of difference between tunics and trousers and a mix across the unit gives them a nice ruski hodge-podge look.

Soviet re-supply was such that a company would change out it's uniforms at once, and a big pile of uniforms would be dropped off. Soldiers would then pick the best fit from the piles. These new uniforms could be brand new or used and cleaned. Typically (and still seen in the Russian Army) the new stuff went to the older soldiers.
