Just got two boxes of redcoats, got my 45th, 88th 74th sorted aswell as the 5/60th companies. Got a enough men to form the 83rd. and figure another couple of boxes should take care of the 5th, 87th and 94th. Now my dilema is Portuguese. Front Rank are lovely.. but Just a bit huge to mix with Perries. Foundry? but then I need 5 battalions for a Portuguese brigade right? two for each line and a cacadore battalion. So foundry look a little price. Im thinking on converting the plastics. Anyone tried it? DO you think it would work
I think it would mostly be a case of filing off lace from cuffs, cutting off British style tufts and green stuffing Portugues style ones. Rifles should convert fairly easily to Cacadores. Alternatively does anyone know any manufactures that produce Perry compatible Portuguese? |

Sounds like a nice project. I hope others with more uniform knowledge than I chime in with some useful suggestions. |

I'm looking for the same thing. I need a unit of 12 Portuguese plus Command for Napoleonic skirmish. I've been looking at Foundry, too, but maybe my Victrix British can be converted. |

The Front Rank Portuguese,British, and 1812 Spainish are a little less bulky than the rest of their lines.Maybe someone has or could do a comparison shot for you with the Perry plastics?.Or maybe you already have.Just a suggestion. Pete Edit do a search on "comparison" and you will find a few on here with Victrix against Front Rank. |

Foundry, Perry Plastic and Front Rank Portuguese fig comparions
I mix them just fine on my game table..I did place a penny under the foundry figs to build up their bases, but otherwise they match up fairly well. link link |
