I'm with them Southern Boys on this one! Just because they like a shot of Redeye & a hand of poker, and a trip upstairs with one of Sadie's girls, a bunch of stuffed shirts gets themselves all worked up and organizes a lynch mob!? It's folks like the Rev. Hargreaves that made the West tame! Two words

Very nice set up. And I like your use of the hat to show who has the drop. Cool idea. |

00 Jet 00 great battle reports. I see the outlaws sustained another casualty. Still the Defenders can't seem to drill that dad-blasted Philadelphia Kid! Can't wait to see what the Chinerman gets up to. My Chinese gentleman is very simlar to him. He is the only Chinese man in town only he carries a machete! ALV |

He is the only Chinese man in town only he carries a machete! Well, even though my guy appears unarmed, let's just say there's more in those bags than just tea leaves and clean underwear ;) J |

Good report. How do you determine what happens in each scenario? |
| 00 JET 00 | 27 Sep 2009 5:05 p.m. PST |
We just play standard scenarios from the LOTOW Rulebook. I take lots of photos as we play. So for example, the report you just read represents two scenarios back to back. I won both because Chris voluntarily chose to head for the hills. When I get home from geeking and download photos, I choose the photos that I like the most (or that came out the best) and I create a story around the photos. In other words, while we were playing, there was no mention of Chris's posse trying to set fire to anything. Nor were the rest of my lawmen outside town when the game started. I just chose not to show any photos of them in town until it suited the story I was trying to tell. I just wanted to make it seem like Xiao Loo was mysterious and heroic, and portraying him as saving the town by himself accomplished that. Not sure if that makes sense. If it doesn't, please ask for clarification :). |
| Mr Brightside | 27 Sep 2009 5:47 p.m. PST |
Makes perfect sense to me. I have done the similar myself. Thanks, ALV |

DAMMIT! As entertaining as ever, but seriously, what the heck do the bad guys have to do to pull out a win in this campaign?! Here's the Posse I would take to Assumption if I were intent on a little mayhem: Hedley Lamarr
Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez
Alan Rickman
The War Wagon
Gwangi
and the gay-rapist caballeros from 'Django Kill!' |

Don't forget El Indio. He would be the life of the party. |
| 00 JET 00 | 29 Sep 2009 2:49 a.m. PST |
but seriously, what the heck do the bad guys have to do to pull out a win in this campaign?! That was really funny. I laughed out loud so suddenly, I scared my wife :) Truthfully, I have experienced both wins and losses in this campaign (but just wins in the last entry), but regardless how things go, I always colour the story to show the good guys coming out on top in the end. In some cases, the writing is on the wall and can't be morphed, like when Miss Sue Ellen was kidnapped, but often times, even if I lose the scenario, I need to have the boys end the story in town with the bad guys driven off. Any suggestions on where to go with it or to improve the story? I'm all ears. J P.S. The group will be trying a game of Gutshot soon, probably in a couple of weeks. |

Well, you know the forces of decency will come through in the end, and justice
albeit rough
will be done. It's what a good western's all about! But I've always enjoyed the scene-stealing antics of a real, bad-to-the-bone, horse-stealin', cattle-rustlin', card-cheatin, gun-runnin' low-down varmint. So I'm waiting for Major Pileforth to get his moment in the spotlight, framed by burning buildings, Sheriff Gunne spitting "You'll hang fer this, Damn yer eyes!" from between broken teeth, with ominous music on the soundtrack, and the pitiful cries of panicked townsfolk! MWAHA-HAA! Followed by the Plan B dance. (Smart casual, bring a bottle.) It's 'Sixgun Sound – Blaze of Glory' for us on Saturday: played the 1st edition quite a bit, but this will be our first try of the new rules
