Going through some stuff I had in storage I found 3 games I picked up at a discount store about 4 years ago. They were a series of miniature board games for 2 players put out Milton Bradley in 2003 by the name of "Mission Commmand". There were titled "Mission Command Sea game","Mission Command Land game" and "Mission Command Air game". All came with hard plastic miniatures of tanks, planes, ship and others. In the Sea game there were included with the ships 16 F-14s and stands. Would anyone one know what scale they might be? They look to be approx 1/600th. If so I will use them for my 1/600 gaming :). You could just measure them, nose-to-tail or wingtip-to-wingtip, look up the corresponding real-world measurement and do the division. |

There is that. Just was hoping someone might know offhand and save me the time LOL. :) Robert My Yahoo 1/600th scale Wargaming Group link |

Well, the all-knowing web says that the F14 was 19.55 meters wide with wings extended, 11.58 meters wide by wings swept. That works out to 19550mm and 11580mm, respectively. Dividing by 600 (1mm=600mm, for 1/600th scale), I get about 19.25mm (swept) and 32.5mm (extended). If your models are that size, then they're 1/600th scale. Bigger than that and they're some other larger scale (43.25mm and 25.75mm would be 1/450th scale); smaller and they're a smaller scale (30mm and 16.5mm would be 1/700th scale). 68.5mm and 40.5mm would be about 1/285th scale. |

Ray in Calgary was able to mesure them and they come out to a little over 32mm. So close enough :). My Yahoo 1/600th scale Wargaming Group link |

Hi Kaos, Nice F14s! The Nimitz is great too,I could never paint the flight deck like they have. She is between 1/2400 and 1/3000. Would work for either. I bought some Trumpeter 1/700 SU33s for agressors but they were smaller. If you need some more,I would trade for the smaller fighter in the Air game. David PS-All 3 games had cool boards! |

Hey David. Thanks for the offer :). I would love to get some more of the F-14s. So you want the smaller F-35s and the larger F-22s? Or just the F-35s? Robert My Yahoo 1/600th scale Wargaming Group link |

Hi K, Don't need the stands.I do have the stands for the F14s if you need them. The F35 is the one I need. I was lucky to pick up these at a great price when KBToys had them.As you said, the minis in all 3 games were great. Besides the great board there are some neat counters for AAM. I have several more of the sea games and need the F35s if anyone is interested. |
