Anyone have a technique to share?

I'm thinking of painting the skin in light grey with pinkish overtones, and exposed organs/innards in blackish colors.

Hope this helps, though now I'm almost hesitant to bring up older threads:

if you want them to look like dead people
first paint them just like you would a living one.
and ether dry brush or wash with a very white/blue

innards/guts should start with a white/tan wash in red and blacken for age. blood starts with bright red and wash with black/brown to age.

look on the net for photos if real dead people, crime scenes, morgues, or autopsy
and try to match them.

Maybe a little trollblood highlight, too.

Use a brown wash, makes 'em look dirty.

The "pale" look is partly the preservatives used for research and training cadavers. The pre-meds where I went to school complained that cadaver training was actually tougher than most living medicine since all the color was bleached out by the combination of the preservatives and the absence of bodily fluids.
