The report on the 2nd play test of the scenario that I wil lbe running at our HMGS Gulf South convention, Bayou Wars ( bayouwars.org ), is now posted on my blog. Please drop by for a look-see. This game will be the 2nd Annual George Carr, Sr., Memorial Colonial game and will also celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Sword and the Flame rules by Larry Brom.

Could you list OOB for both sides?

I just read through TSATF 20th anniversary addition and I didn't find any rules regarding the destruction or demolition of forts. Are you using home grown rules or did I over look something?

DG,

OB: Anglo-Indians have two Highland platoons, two Indian platoons, one Ghurkha platoon, one British hussar troop, one Indain Bengal lancer troop, one battery of RA, and one battery of Indian mountain artillery. Haddabiera have four rifle armed clan units, four melee armed clan units, two cavalry units (both rifle/carbine) armed, one "modern" gun, and one "ancient" gun. Both sides have appropriate leaders.

Breaching: The rules to breach the fort's walls, towers, and gate are "home-made." After the convention this coming weekend, I'm going to post everything as files on the ColonialWars and SwordFlame Yahoo groups and on my blog so they'll be available for other Colonial gamers.

Hi, Colonel Campbell,

Just posted a comment on your very cool blog, re: a special rule for "fanatics" in TSATF, since you just finished up your first "fanatic" unit, which looks terrific. I've used this rule for Ghazi religious fanatics in NWF Sword and the Flame games for almost 30 years, pretty much since the rules have been in print. It's a very simple rule:

When "FANATIC" troops are WOUNDED their player rolls a D6…

…if it comes up an ODD number, the fanatic figure becomes a WIA casualty, just like anyone else;

…but if it comes up an EVEN number, the fanatic shakes off the wound and continues on unaffected.

You can lessen the dramatic impact of the rule by applying it only to wounds suffered in close combat and not to wounds delivered by small arms or artillery fire, but we use it for all wounds of all kinds. The effect is somewhat balanced because all "fanatics" in our games are armed only with swords and shields, never with rifles or missile weapons of any kind, so their ferocious hand-to-hand power is somewhat offset by their complete lack of firepower.

Great blog by the way!
