Here are three MiG-17 that I painted up yesterday. The tricolor cammo MiG has a wing mate, but I dropped it. I am glad there were no small children or ladies present. Their faces would have turned very red. It popped a hunk of paint right off the nose, so I am repainting that.

Here is a photo of all the VPAF planes that I have painted so far. I have two and 1/2 MiG-17 and two MiG-21 to paint. Then I have to start painting some MiG killers. I have four F-4 Phantoms and four F-8 Crusaders.

Excellent work on the camo – must take some patience, but the end result's really nice.

I will post some photos of some BR 20 Cicogna that I am painting. The dappled camo pattern takes me about an hour to paint on each aircraft. I can only paint it for about 20 minutes and then I have to take a break.

Wow! Very nice!

Are those Forgeworld's Aeronautica bases you're using?

Mike G22 Jun 2009 12:08 p.m. PST

Yes they are, however I replaced the acrylic rod that was provided with a Litko one. I had to file the Litko acrylic rod a bit, because the ones provided were significantly smaller.

Those look REALLY good!!! Love the camo jobs. What scale are they?

I'm pretty sure they are Scotia, 1/300th scale jets.

You trying to convert me to 1/300s?

Top Gun Ace is correct, they are Scotia. The American aircraft are two C-in-C and two Raiden Phantom IIs. These are very hard to tell them apart. I like the Raiden better, because they are all in one piece. So there is no glueing and the Crusaders are Raiden also. I should be posting the last two MiG-21s and two MiG-17s. Some photos of American aircraft may show up in the next couple of days too.

Chips88, what scale do you game with?

Mike
