I was re-reading Richard Ketchum's "Decisive Day: the Battle for Bunker Hill", when I ran across the "Diana" incident. link For the first time it registered on me as a possible wargaming scenario. I already have a couple resin 25mm ships for Pirates gaming, I have tons of singly based militia, and of course artillery, both ship and land based. I have British sailors from Old glory. Now, all I have to do is dust off "Ye Olde Farte Meifter's Skirmifh Rules for Warre" and think up a devious scenario. We have already done a magnificent 15mm Bunker Hill game (Shoutout to Darrell and Roger! I had nothing to do with it.) and I keep threatening to finish off a couple more blisters of Foundry Brits for Lexington and concord skirmishing. Anyway, I will need the island, a shore line, herds of livestock for the Pig Wars element, cowboys (literally) to round them up, Marines determined to stop them, and a Nephew in charge of a ship to embarrass Uncle. A fat Put to inspire and lead the Rebels, hordes of militia
I am 95% done! |
