Just curious…. if anyone will partake in D-day oriented type games, or just WW2 in General. I for one will look to do D-day +1 or 2 days, after the intial beach landings, as the troops pushed inland.

Not wanting to deal with Naval gunfire. lol.

Any ideas?

Caen
St Meire Eglise

Just curious.

Since several of our gaming group will be out of town on Saturday, we will be playing my buddy Don's famous (or infamous) 1:18 scale WWII tonight instead. I believe hedgerows were on the discussion list.

I think there is sposed to be a d-day miniature thingy at the Nat'l D-day museum in NOLA. All I have painted is russians and Germans :(

Maybe might run some Gutshot at the LGS. If not, I'll be writing up some rules….

I probably won't play anything, but I have recently bought the (rather nice) Dragon 1/72 landing craft. Seems like an appropriate day to put it together!

Scenario of the evening of D-Day at Warfair.

SMPress04 Jun 2009 8:15 a.m. PST

We are going to play Aslagh Ridge – North Africa, June 5&6, 1942 this Saturday.

leidang04 Jun 2009 8:38 a.m. PST

No WWII for me. Most of my gaming group is off at yearly AT so I will be painting 15mm Romans and Gauls.

CaptMors04 Jun 2009 8:38 a.m. PST

cricket……

Pictors Studio04 Jun 2009 9:21 a.m. PST

I doubt I'll be playing anything, I'm on call.

Combat Colours04 Jun 2009 10:12 a.m. PST

I'll be running a Ambush Alley Force on Force D-Day beach assault game at Die Con convention in Collinsville Il this Saturday. The con has a D-Day theme for many of the miniatures games and the FOW tourney being held there.

Don't have anything appropriate for NWE, so we're doing French Foreign Legion versus the Ramcke Parachute Brigade in North Africa.

I'll be weekending in Madison, WI, so the closest I'll get is shopping at The Last Square. I did consider (very briefly) trying to talk the wife into changing venues to Milwaukee, so I could hit the D-Day con there.

Invade the back yard, keeping the weeds under control, and making sure the burn pile doesn't.

jawjatek04 Jun 2009 11:15 a.m. PST

I'm hoping to be up to my eyeballs in some ACW at Warfair on Saturday!

Kutusov04 Jun 2009 11:51 a.m. PST

Romans v's Brits

Microbiggie04 Jun 2009 11:51 a.m. PST

I'll be doing a 6mm IABSM game that takes place south of Hannut Belguim, May 1940 at the Kennesaw Hobbytown.
If you can't make Warfair stop in and join us.

Oh. A little reverse D-day gaming eh? :D

ashill04 Jun 2009 3:17 p.m. PST

6th June is my wedding anniversary – so gaming is not on the agenda! Next week I'll be on the Brit side in a Pegasus Bridge scenario.

I'll be taking the car to garage and pruning the hedge. I'll probably do a bit of painting though (Corps assets for 1944 Germans), which is sort of D-Dayish I suppose.

Rugby, Saturday is a Rugby day.

Mom and Grandmom are going shopping. I have my 5 year old. He likes to play with his army men and call it Flames of War: which he saw played at local hobby shop.

I was thinking about taking him to a battle field site, or to a museum.
