Guys, been mulling over making another variety of space demon. I mean, some different subspecies. If you don't know what they are, look here: link What additional type of critter would you like to see, if any, in the hive? Thx |

I'd like to see some of the hammerheads, walking/attacking, with wings. Some flying ones would be very useful too. |

This doesn't answer your question , but I'd like to buy these in 28mm. |

Make some that have bodies like snakes
for burrowers. |

Demons with wings
bat-like, not insect-like
would be very welcome. Pete |

Hammerheads with more cutting blade type wings onm head and some wings. I like the burrowing thing idea too . . . |

Hi! It may be worth looking at some of the Alien subspecies released as toys a while back: link Some of the pics dont work but the Boar alien was rather nice as it scuttled around on all fours and had a series of large spines emerging from its head (it also has no tail
) |
Top Gun Ace | 30 May 2009 1:13 p.m. PST |
Yes, the boar alien would be good too. As would one like a panther. |

28mmMan | 30 May 2009 2:44 p.m. PST |
Upper body like that of a face hugging alien (in scale to lower body). On all fours. |
Smokey Roan | 30 May 2009 4:11 p.m. PST |
How about egg pods and face huggers (tiny, in scale) |
kmfrye | 30 May 2009 7:14 p.m. PST |
Hammerheads with batlike wings, attached to arms. KF |
Top Gun Ace | 30 May 2009 10:23 p.m. PST |
Yes, definitely egg pods. Singles, and small groups of them. Some opened, and many closed. |

The space demons rule, but I can't think of anything to add. I'm not feeling creative :(. Now the eggs, self-propelled ovipositors, and larvae are a must have, but what else? The burrowers suggested above might be cool. They could look like a long spinal column with specially adapted head, jaws, or limbs. |

My concern about wings is that it erases the primary weakness of the demons -- their need to cross the zone of fire to get at the enemy, obviously being better in close combat than most foes. Eggs are interesting -- I was thinking of making a mat of eggs, the eggs looking like shark or ray eggs (with the spiky points on them). Then again, my thought on their lifecycle was that they are like wasps, laying eggs on the paralyzed bodies of their victims, and the larva slowly devour the innards of the victim. A large eqq would not really support that notion. Perhaps larva too? I think they might be like a demon head with legs, or maybe a worm version of a demon, which could also be used as a burrower. I'm surprised no one wanted a huge one! Like a godzilla demon. |

A giant alien monstrosity would be outstanding! |
Sloppypainter | 31 May 2009 2:19 p.m. PST |
Then again, a burrowing demon would also cross the zone of fire without suffering hits
they just emerge from the ground right next to their victims. At least the victim could get off a shot at a flying demon. Wings keep with the wasp-like thought. Perhaps an armored (think turtle shell or beetle looking) demon? Pete |

I would actually suggest a monster one for use as a vehicle-equivalent for 'standard' battles. Borrowing ones would be useful as well. -Will |
