Hello,

I am planning to organize a game day at the club based on related scenarios.

The main theme will be Separatists vs Federal government with a gradual low level US intervention (Eastern/Central Asia).

Here are a few scenario ideas I was thinking of (only the titles), in chronological order for the game day – do you have more suggestions?

-Independence (Separatists)
-The Journalist (US)
-Pacification (Government)
-Bring back the evidence (Separatists)
-Arm delivery (US)
-Search and Destroy (Government)
-The Instructors (US)
-Guerilla warfare (Separatists)
-Kill the leader (Government)
-Chopper down (US)
-The convoy (Separatists)
-Hearts and mind (Government)
-Final stand-off (All – depends on the outcome of previous missions)

Do you have more suggestions?

thanks!

Here is what I think would be a good scenario:

The overall situation is that the rural areas have basically gotten fed up with the urban population and have launched their revolution. A small band of rural people have decided to kidnap a governor from a city, say Philadelphia where he is making an appearance at something, say a basketball game. This is the touch off of the larger revolution.

So if they are able to get the governor out and alive the rebels get a bonus in the first real round of the game. If they get him out dead or kill him they get a bonus but not as much and the feds/urbans get some kind of moral bonus too, if they don't get him out, he survives and they all get killed then they lose moral.

Capture the radio and TV stations – pretty much a given, early on in any scenario, for propaganda purposes.

Declare yourself the winner, over the airwaves, if you manage to do that, and denounce the other side.

Oh, almost forgot, embarass the other side with some stories of outrageous extravagances, e.g. Imelda Marcos and her shoe collection, the ex-president/dictator and his concubines, etc.

Another thing to do to spice things up is to give the Rebels in the final game a couple of "riots" to place and tie up some government assets to put down the rioters. Just one problem…any building the mob seizes is looted, this could be a real problem if the rioters take the treasury…

Check out some of the real skirmishes between the Federal Gov and various separatists:

Ruby Ridge: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_Ridge

Waco Siege: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waco_Siege

And to show that it isn't always between right wing types and the gov:

Rainbow Farm: link

Lots of scenario fodder there to give ideas about how another civil war could start. I remember that there were a lot of concerned and outraged 'normal' folks during the early '90's. They were freaked out about the feddies response to Ruby Ridge and so on and various militia groups started organizing. America has a long history of informal militias forming- going all the way back to the original Minutemen who opposed the British.

I could see some sparks here that could start a real fire. Oh, and don't forget the secessionists in South Carolina! Something of a state tradition! :D
