Just recieved in the Post today from TD a couple packets of the WWI range ground
minis. I ordered one of the GERMAN
ISL101 GERMAN 77MM FIELD GUN x6 and one of the ISL901 INFANTRY IN OPEN ORDER
x64. The field guns look very good and unlike the type of guns from Oddzial Osmy
are not moulded to the base. The infantry are as stated in standing Open Order
in 8 strips of 8 men. Not as detailed as Oddzial Osmy and a little larger when
compared side to side. But IMO are good for generic infantry. I plan on buying
the WWI Mini Starter Packs that are offered. The infantry and other minis in
them can double up as WWII if neeeded. They offer a INFANTRY "BRIGADE" and
CAVALRY "BRIGADE" in your choice of British a (ISL1), German b (ISL101)or
Russian (ISL301). I will have to order some of the WWII vehicles soon to see how
they look. I also would like to see what the WWI ISL921 FLACK GUNS WWI x6 and
ISL922 MOBILE FLACK LORRY WWI x6 look like too. So far other then the FT-17 by
Oddzial Osmy there are no other WWII tanks offered. Hopefully sometime in the
future someone might be persuaded to produce some. Does anyone use these or have any photos of the other minis offered in this range? Robert

I hope so too. I have dropped hints in both my Group and the 3mm Group LOL. I just realized I have had "Over The Top" by GDW for over 18 years now LOL. And never had a reason to play it till now :) LOL. Robert

I have only played OOT a few times, gives a good enough game, but I am also thinking of the new CD edition (test of battle) which is bringing out a 1914 supplement soon

All I really want from OO is some Mark IV and V variants, but I would also like him to complete some of the WW2 ranges as well

Kaoschallenged31 May 2009 4:40 p.m. PST

I hear ya there. Like I said OO does make the FT-17 but I would love the A7V too along with the MK IV and V.And hopefully he will start making some WWII US minis. I may try to see if I can convince Lance from JTF600 to do some WWI. But I know hes very busy with what he has right now.

I was actually wondering if it would be possible to convert the Char B to a Mark IV

Kaoschallenged31 May 2009 11:14 p.m. PST

LOL Now you are going to make me take mine out and get a better look. Robert

Oh have to say, I like your yahoo group…I have been looking at the Char B myself, and I think it could be done, mighht be a little long though

jony66301 Jun 2009 4:13 a.m. PST

Was looking at that as well, but the Mk IV is 8.05 meters and the Char B is 6.37 meters. Than again the is something like 2mm is this scale. LOL.

Some photos would be cool if you manage to take some

jony66302 Jun 2009 5:08 a.m. PST

TD might sell a lot more if we knew what they looked like.

I am guessing Robert that the WWI battle field would look great in 3mm.

I may just have to do that Steve :).

"TD might sell a lot more if we knew what they looked like."

I do agree with that Jon. Dom at Doms Decals has photos of quite a few of the TD aircraft but he doesn't carry the WWI/WWII ground minis at all.

Infantry look ok but the bases seem to be thick.

Kaoschallenged03 Jun 2009 12:49 p.m. PST

My pleasure Guys. Ill post others as I get them. Like I said the infantry will probably look alot better after they are painted. And the bases do look a little thick Jon. Ill just sand or file them down. Robert

Looks like the rechambered 77mm gun was used ,at least for training, by the Legion Freies Indien in addition to other German units. So Ill will probably use them both for WWI and WWII.

Kaoschallenged04 Jun 2009 8:13 p.m. PST

Thanks again Jon. Im glad to be able to promote the scale LOL. Like I have mentioned before I have totally converted to 1/600th-3mm from 1/285th-1/300th :). Now its the only scale I use for Air,Ground and Coastal gaming. I need to find out more on the Soviets use of the Tupolov "Aero-Glisser" Armed Airboat and other Areosans. Robert

I forgot to add that when the TD Generic Infantry is next to the British Infantry from Oddzial Osmy (O8) You can definately see that the ones from 08 have more detail then the ones from TD. Though IMO you can mix them both after filing down the TD stands. Robert

Hooray!!!! Just got the minis from Brookhurst in the Post this morning!! Not too bad looking :).Once again I ordered,

All arrived safely and quickly. Steve. The Flak guns look like the converted cannon. Its the same gun for both ISL921 and ISL922. And once again I have posted pics of all in the Photos sections of both Groups under TD Ground Minis :). I will definately be ordering the others in the range especially the INFANTRY "BRIGADE" and CAVALRY "BRIGADE" in your choice of British a (ISL1), German b (ISL101)or
Russian (ISL301). And Ill be ordering some of the WWII minis from Brookhurst or from TD to see what they are like too. Robert

In the WWII and Modern Aviation forums someone has mentioned special ordering and having produced aircraft mini in 1/600th-3mm scale. Perhaps some here might like to do something like that for WWI?

Peter Pig has a good range of 3mm-1/600th American Civil War
minis.Ships,Boats,Infantry,Cavalry,Artillery and Scenery,Ect. Some might be used for WWI gaming too. So it looks like we have the ACW range from Peter Pig, WWI and WWII ranges from TD and WWII and Modern ranges from Oddzial Osmy (O8). Robert
