I was watching an auction on ebay of a box of Starship Trooper Light Infantry and was shocked at the final price. $80. USD Damn that's crazy. So who can you use in place of them? Thanks, Xin |

How close do you want them to look like the movie LAMI? I already had some of the Medium Infantry from the Shockforce range, so I blended them in. If I didn't already have a number of those and the Mongoose LAMI, I may have tried Pig Iron Heavy Infantry as a total replacement option. Another option might be some of the AT-43 figures. |

Well, they are smaller but the EM-4 Security Troopers could work and they are inexpensive. When the LAMI came out I saw the writing on the wall. Between my son and I we picked up 10-12 boxes. The price (a@ 20 bucks a set) was too good to pass on. I think we have 80-100 painted up so far. Thanks, john |

I've seen people mention AT-43 miniatures U.N.A. Steel Troopers. There was a good, active SST forum, but it went down a few months back unfortunately. You might try this forum, not very active but you might find some more information on proxies: link Steve |

AND i have a "short platoon" of MONGOOSE's LAMI troopers that are nicely painted up in movie colors that i am thinking about selling for a very reasonable price. SHOCKFORCE v2 corporate troopers by designed by BOBBY JACKSON immediately comoe to mind as SST clones -these guys looked quite a bit like the LAMI from the movie and those made by MONGOOSE.
COMBAT ZONE corporate troopers, also come to mind, as do STONE MOUNTAIN's mid tech space marines., both in 25mm scale.
there actually is a BRIT miniatures company that makes very nice 25mm scale SST LAMI; i had some and was talked out of them in a moment of weakness several years ago. the US distributor for this company is in FL, i believe.
surely some BRIT OUT THERE can remember the name of this company; it makes a wide variety of miniatures for many genres, including the colonial BRIT-XOSA WARS . . .
and of course, COPPLESTONE 's FUTURE WARS soldiers can be made to work as well in 28mm.

GZGs Free CalTex are perfect, but they're 25 rather than 32mm. If you're just fighting bugs, shouldn't be a problem. link |
