I'm still holding out for production of the Viggens, Drakens, and Gripens in 1/600th scale, eventually, but would like to see some bombers and large recon planes produced too: B-47 B-58 XB-70 – just because it is such a cool looking bird, and so the Foxbats will have something to challenge them B-1 B-2 SR-71 Bear Backfire Feel free to chime in with your agreement, or your own want lists here as well. Hopefully, some manufacturer will read about them, and actually put them into production. |
| RampRatCorsair | 24 May 2009 10:30 a.m. PST |
As I posted to the 1/600th Yahoo Group, quite a few of these are in the process of production. It looks like the next wave or two of JTF600 releases will be aircraft-oriented. Some of the list are having masters made, and there's several others waiting for molds to be done. The B-47 is available from TD already, so I am not doing that bird, but there's still a LOT of subject material to cover yet. Regards, Lance/Corsair COMJTF600 |
| Top Gun Ace | 24 May 2009 2:26 p.m. PST |
Hi Lance, Thanks for the reminder on the B-47. I forgot about that one. Are you producing the Bear, or the Backfire? I've seen some pics of your other jets, e.g. the transports, and they look very nice. Best regards,
Rob |

The big problem is coming up with rules and scenarios that make using strategic bombers interesting. |
| HardRock | 24 May 2009 4:08 p.m. PST |
I'm planning on taking ideas from the boardgame "Downtown". It's North Vietnam, but the game works. 50's and 60's bomber penetration scenario's, both US and Soviet. "Failsafe" is a good movie that does this. Using 1/600th scale, bombers on single bases, flights of fighters on a base. Looking forward to your Hustlers, Corsair. I really like your work. |
| Number6 | 24 May 2009 5:50 p.m. PST |
If we're talking Cold War, we need a Delta Dart. |
| Allen57 | 24 May 2009 5:54 p.m. PST |
Lance, I think you are already doing a B-36. If not, I want one along with a goblin to provide escort and an RF101 for various recon scenarios. The Bear is just too cool. I saw one once up close and personal as it did a low slow flyby of my carrier in the central pacific. A really obscure aircraft which has great potential for the mid 50's is the Bison. A really nice looking big bomber which no one seems to have heard of. I also need some Furys and some Cougars. Wish I could sculpt. Al Any Luft46 hypotheticals, especially the Gotha/Horten would be wonderful. |
| Top Gun Ace | 24 May 2009 9:47 p.m. PST |
I'd like to see the F-106 produced as well. |
Chortle | 24 May 2009 10:18 p.m. PST |
Apart from TD and PicoArmor who is producing 1/600th aircraft? Lance/Corsair – are you working for these or another company? |
| RampRatCorsair | 25 May 2009 7:57 a.m. PST |
Chortle, I am a solo operation and independent. The only other source for 1/600 aircraft is Skytrex, but they only have a limited range of WWII stuff. Lance/Corsair |

Both JTF600 and Oddzial Osmy are distributed in teh US by PicoArmor. The Swedes sound great Marcin! |

"Some aircrafts with three crowns signs will be available soon". Excellent news, and none too soon to defend against the Soviet hordes. |
| Lion in the Stars | 26 May 2009 10:13 a.m. PST |
1/600? Uhhh
Definitely some cold-war stuff. I'd love to see XB70s and SR71s available, since Fail Safe does give a great scenario for a single ingressing bomber. If it's possible, a B52M (SST nose, straight wings, and V-tail) would be a whole lot of fun for playing Flight of the Old Dog. Depending on how much it costs, I'd actually be willing to spring for XF103 and XF108s personally for some of the weirder Cold-War scenarios. F111s and F105s for Thud Ridge games. |

I'd post painted pics if I had the time. I literally spend almost all my shop time on production, moldmaking or prototyping. The only painted aircraft I 've done in months are the test shots that go to Picoarmor for pictures. I have a 1/600 scale CLEVELAND class cruiser that has been getting its camo for going on a month now! If you look at the 1/600 Yahoo groups, you'll see examples of a lot ofthe prototypes. Do you use 3D modelling and rapid prototyping for those? If so, a P500 preorder system might be the way to go. |

Never mind all these X types how about some of the widespread but unloved types? The 1/600th Yahoo group has had a group gripe about a lack of the F-84F Thunderstreak, one of the most common fighter bombers in the west during the 50's and 60's. Thankfully,Lance has moved the model up his production schedule, we love you Lance…..In a masculine brotherly way of course.;-P Personally I have been bending Pauls ear about types like the Fiat G91; Aero L29 & 39 or SOKO Jastreb, Galeb and Super Galeb. The L-39 alone is in use with the following – Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Cuba, Czech Republic, Egypt (L-59), Ethiopia, Libya, Nigeria, Romania, Russia, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia (L-59), United States, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. Of course it is all a matter of taste, if you are intrested in 1950's what ifs you want planes for that. I want to do late 20th century so I want planes for that. All of which means for Paul, Marcin and now Lance its a case of alloting too little time to too many requests. Fatman And dont even get me started on Swedes, Chinese and current 4th generation fighters!! Fatman |
| Top Gun Ace | 27 May 2009 8:58 a.m. PST |
A yes, those litle trainers can be used for air racing at Reno too. You'll need about six of them, individually painted in different markings, and camo schemes, of course. |

Number6, Nothing fancy here. No 3-D modelling system. Zip, zilch, nada. Every prototype is scratchbuilt up from plastic strip, sheet and stock, except for the big aircraft cariers. The hulls of those are basswood with styrene used for the hangar deck on up. Fortunately I have a huge personal reference library here and access to one of the largest college libraries in the US if I really get hung for information. And then we also have a nice air museum just down the road, which has dozens of aircraft in the collection. If I get on a roll, I can finish a 2 or 3 aircraft prototypes a week, and maybe squeeze in a piece of terrain or two and some time for the ships. The record is going from a request to actual production in 4 1/2 days, but usually I keep a half dozen prototypes going at a time. Lance/Corsair COMJTF600 |

Would love to see the interceptor, and recon versions of the F-101 Voodoo as well, in addition to the XF-103 and XF-108. Any good links, or on-line sources for drawings and data of prototypes of British, or Russian plans/prototypes from the heyday of the interceptor and fast manned bomber age, e.g. the 1960's and 1970's? |

I just got a TD Vulcan. It's a pretty poor model – flattened out and with straighter wings. Doesn't capture the look or feel at all. The Badger is crisper, but quite a way from looking like the real thing. It looks like there's room for improving the state of the art. |
| Kaoschallenged | 30 May 2009 11:26 a.m. PST |
Perhaps Lance or Marcin or Paul can be convinced to make an improved Vulcan and Badger My 1/600th Yahoo Wargaming Group link |
| Top Gun Ace | 01 Jun 2009 3:05 p.m. PST |
I'd like to see the Bear, Bison, Backfire, and the Sukhoi T-4 (looks similar to the XB-70, but with a single rudder), among others for the Russians. A re-made Badger and Vulcan would be nice too, but I can live with them, if necessary. I'd rather see the B-58, B-1B, B-2, Valiant, and other missing bombers produced first though, over the re-makes, priority-wise. |

I'm just thinking about getting into this "period." I'm glad to see the Swedes are on the horizon as i have always loved the Viggen, but I am also be keen to see aircraft which might allow some mid atlantic, mid 80's anti carrier battles. i could use VG's second Fleet at the theatre level, but i would need a lot of backfires and badgers.. (not thinking of Viggens for this!) First off i am thinking of purcahsing Thud Ridge or falklands from Wings of War though, unless anyone has some a better suggestion? |

This is the list that Lance put out in May. The Vought F7U Cutlass and Douglas Skyray are on it. So they are in the works and will be coming out in the near future. JTF600 Miniatures List Note: This is a list of minis that are WIP (work in progress). WIP means that the master is being fabricated, the master is done and is waiting for molds to be shot, or that the mold is done. As you can see, a LOT of projects are working currently, and as this is a 1 man show, there is a fair amount of releases to chew through, and thattakes time.
