Any idea who might make these as Afghans and CIA, SoF troops.
I just read "Horse Soldier". and it really got me wanting to do this for Force on Force. Looking for mounted and dismounted.

There are some in the milita pack. You could probably split them with someone else who wants mainly the African figures from that same box.

Avoid the Mars figures…they stink.

And what about horse mounted troopers? I have a few fron Stan Johanson (sp) but would like more ideas. Thank You.

The old Combat Miniatures "Operation Panshir" figures would work. The packs of pro-Soviet Afghan army troops look the part: forage caps, simple fatigues.

Also RHModels/Liberation Miniatures make a universal range that has figures in forage caps and other headgear, besides an Afghan/Taliban/Al Quaeda range

sounds like a good conversion project…Red Box Afhgans upper torsos with lower torsos and horses from Strelets Mounted Boers maybe?
