I have waited over a year and have finally given up hope of ever getting back about 175.00 of Mongrel Miniatures Soviet Afghan War figures from Zorzserbia painting or the $220.00 USD worth of Hist Arts moulds I fronted to Zorz to do the project. I wanted to post this here to warn anyone considering ZorzSerbia not to trust him nor to use his service if you are thinking about it.

This is his website:

zorzserbia.50webs.com/index.html

He is actually using one of the figures he stole from me in the ads for his site. (Notice the Soviet Afghan War figure in the graphic for "28mm Classic Infantry.")

It's somewhat ironic that I would be posting this here as I first learned of Zorzserbia painting through some features Bill did on TMP regarding Zorz's service.

Without boring you with too many details, Zorz did one project for me about a year and a half ago and everything went well. This earned my trust, and for the next project he convinced me to front him payment in full in the form of Hist Arts moulds that he needed for some other project. I told him I was concerned about paying everything up front, but he gave me his word he would have the figures done in two weeks…

It is now more than a year later and Zorz no longer answers my emails even though he has promised multiple times to get the figures done by "X' date. It got to the point wherein I asked him to just send me back the unfinished figures and to pay me back for the moulds whenever he could. I even offered to reimburse him for the shipping cost once I got the figures back, but he still refuses to answer my emails. So basically he has stolen the figures and my money (in the form of the moulds) and refuses to send anything back.

I seriously doubt Zorz has suffered some kind of personal tragedy that prevents him from shipping back my stuff. His website is still active and he is obviously paying his web hosting bills. I have heard so many excuses from him that I don't believe a word he says. I have also run into several players at KublaCon also with horror stories about his service.

Obviously I have lost out for trusting this individual. I warn you not to do the same.

Buyer beware

He's in Serbia… That should have been a clue right there of potential problems…

xxxxxxxxooooo22 May 2009 8:57 a.m. PST

Well, to be fair, he completed an earlier job to earn his trust.

I have been taken by the same sequence. Small job, done well, then followed by big job, and everything was stolen.

Which only goes to show that the Internet is a very dangerous place to trade. You never know WHO is really at the other side of a web site or email account or WHAT their real agenda is …

I've emailed him and pointed him to this topic.

I believe 50webs.com is a free service, so not indicative o paying hosting services

Alxbates22 May 2009 12:38 p.m. PST

Too bad. His gallery shows some impressive work.

Ax, see what happens when you send your stuff half way around the world. Lots of good painters right here in the states and honest as well.

I see this happening to few gamers from time to time.
Why donot you ask references before you place the order.
By this way you could avoid this type of problem.
There are so many trusted painting services around overseas.

Mrs Antenociti23 May 2009 4:45 a.m. PST

Sad to hear this.

Zorz has done three painting jobs for us and been polite, fast and reliable every time.

He has also turned down work from us due to him being too busy to complete the job in a reasonable timeframe.

napthyme –
He's in Serbia… That should have been a clue right there of potential problems…

That is a highly bigoted and racist comment.

McWong7323 May 2009 6:09 a.m. PST

But not entirely out of place.

Fernando and Dragon Painting Service, can't be beat.

napthyme23 May 2009 10:29 a.m. PST

@nadine Considering the political upheval that has plagued that country in the last couple decades I don't think so.

Concidering your chances of waking up blown to bits one morning was better then your chances of being run over by a truck anything could have happened to the figs or the painter before you got them back…

I wouldn't send figs to afghanastan for the same reason…

Paul L23 May 2009 11:58 a.m. PST

napthyme, that's a load of bunk. Serbia today is nothing like Afghanistan. In fact, Sri Lanka has more upheaval right now and things seem to go back and forth from there just fine.

Mrs Antenociti23 May 2009 12:06 p.m. PST

Last time i looked at the news they werent dropping artillery on hospitals in Serbia, but they were doing so in Sri Lanka.

Dont let the facts get in the way of prejudices though.

napthyme23 May 2009 1:09 p.m. PST

you acuse me of being a racist without any facts I'll have you know I have many long term friends in Russia and other former easern block countries.

Its ashame that bad people rip off those in other countries and give there fellow citizens a bad name. I an sure there are some wonderful people in Nigeria but I wouldn't deal with anyone offering there services on the strength of a free website either. I don't have a "stupid" sign hung around my neck.

For that reason I wouldn't ship minis to be painted to Sri Lanka either. Why when there are so many others countries that are relatively at peace.

Painters in the UK, Australia, Germany, France, and 50 others would get my business first.

@nadine go ahead and do all the business with him you want, I don't care. Just don't come back complaining to me if you get riped off finally….

Mrs Antenociti24 May 2009 5:30 a.m. PST

napthyme I'm not defending Zorz, just listing my experiences with him, and it is never good to hear that people have been ripped off.

However that does not excuse your remarks dismissing an entire country as being unworthy, because that is bigotted nonesense.

I have dealt with 5 companies in serbia in the last year and not one of them has ever given anything but excellent, reliable service. How many have you dealt with?

I also notice that you have a new thread entitled "New website for businessmen to trade ideas/tips" and here is one for you: dont post bigotted nonesence dismissing entire countries as being unworthy of trading with on the basis of a single neagtive report on one painter.

axabrax – i have emailed zorz, hopefully he will respond and resolve this ASAP but please let us all know what happens either way?

axabrax24 May 2009 6:06 a.m. PST

Sure--I'd be happy to. If you hear from him please PM me. I just want my stuff back at this point. If he can't pay me back the money he owes and can only send back the figures I could live with that. The last time I heard from him was last Fall, but he has updated his website since then…

Ivan DBA24 May 2009 8:02 a.m. PST

Serbia has been at peace for a decade, it doesn't make sense to say it was a mistake to send figures there because of violence.

Nor does it make sense to say the same about Fernando. He's not located up in the Tamil region. Would you have refused to do business in the UK during the IRA bombings? That's the type of thing that was happening in Fernandos' part of Sri Lanka. Sporadic terrorist bombings are horrible, but they don't make it impossible to ship a few figures!

napthyme24 May 2009 10:18 a.m. PST

nadine… Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you that I am the farthest away from being a biggot of any man alive….

However as I stated before I am not a STUPID person. I would not ship figures to someone in that part of the world whom I did not know who just happened to toss up a website they made in 5 minutes on a free to host site.

Just the same as I would not send free product to an unknown "Joe public" who e-mailed me out of the blue and asked for it just because they might review it somewhere eventually in the distant future.

as far as my dealings with Serbians, I never had had any need to, but when that day comes up I will judge that case on its own merrits as to whether or not that is a good deal for me at the time.

I unlike most of the unwashed masses use what little grey matter I have with common sense.

@nadine… stop while your ahead or we'll end up in blue fez territory.

napthyme24 May 2009 10:46 a.m. PST

Its something when you get called a biggot and a racist on a public forum over 2 little words… potential problems.

You'd have thought I said (and I will never say) "that all Serbians are a bunch of criminals who can't be trusted any farther then you can throw them…"

There is a is a highly bigoted and racist comment for you Nadine. see the difference??????????????

axabrax24 May 2009 4:29 p.m. PST

You guys are hijacking a post that was meant for another purpose with this bickering. Please stop. Send each other PMs if you want to continue.

napthyme24 May 2009 5:33 p.m. PST

Sorry Axabrax… I was ready to stop 3 posts ago, but she kept calling me a biggot and a racist when I didn't deserve that.
