I ordered some minis from a merchant across the pond. Instead of Air Mail, I had the package sent "Standard Mail". Five and a half weeks, still no package. Is this a normal shipping time for Oversea Surface mail? I completely trust the Company I bought from, they are well known for their fast customer service…

thanks,

Dave

"Is this a normal shipping time for Oversea Surface mail?"

Quite possibly. Could be longer (6 – 8 weeks)

OTOH if the company you have ordered from is GZG, that is abysmal. GZG usually get stuff to the US in less than a week (private worm hole, we think!!).

it's now up to 8-12 weeks for non-airmail to the USA/Canada and that doesnt include if it gets halted by customs.

Standard airmail is around 3-5 days normally, but can take up to 2 weeks.

"Airsure" is 2-3 days "guarenteed".

I have seen 10 weeks at some times (December/January), 5 days at others. Usually this time of year it is OK though. Your customs guys may be at fault too.

If it's surface, anyone's guess is as good as any other. Airmail, I've never had anything take more than a week – two tops.

I've had it take up to 3 months for surface in some cases.

Pz, did you remember to give gifties to your mail carriers this last Xmas? That could be the hold up right there.
How ever, 5+ weeks is not that unusual in some cases.
I had a parts shipment for my Alfa Romeo take three months last year, and wound up getting a used part till the package cleared customs and such.

Air Mail to Italy – one package too 6 months (Italian Customs) and another took 7 days … go figure.

I must be lucky; never waited more than 2 weeks to the US from the UK.
